Description

1986 e28 BMW 528e, A inspection & emissions stickers to August 2016. Nice car, o time to drive or work on it. No rust, lean underneath, he car spent a lot of time in Florida hence the clearcoat fade on the roof! Very nice condition inside with no tears in the leather. All electrics (windows, irrors, eats, unroof tilt/slide, ash computer) work. Odometer works (!!) but the economy gauge and mpg readings don't and the speedo and ABS light sometimes have minds of their own. I believe that the issue is a combination of ABS sensor and the batteries on the instrument cluster circuit board. I haven't had time to investigate but the brakes will need to be serviced before the next inspection, o I planned to replace the ABS sensors at that time. It's also developed a vibration under acceleration which my mechanic tells me is thedrive shaftflex link, o I planned to replace that at the same time as having the brakes done. The title doc shows the mileage as 'exempt'. I have an old service slip showing that the water pump, hermostat, tc. were replaced in 1996 at 152000 miles. I know that the car sat a lot after that time so my feeling is that the mileage is accurate. The engine runs nicely, o smoke, nd oil and filter were changed at the last inspection. There's 2 areas of minor body damage, ne on the rear door on the driver's side which I think can be massaged out and the second on the offside front fender as shown in the pictures.I've used the car for cruising around at weekends and hoped to do a rolling restoration but job move means it's just sitting in the garage. The car has a replacement CD/Radio fitted but comes with the original unit. The power antenna stopped working and I took that out with the intention of repairing it but didn't get around to that either. The antenna comes with the car. There's also a spare, ust free front fender (different color unfortunately), spare door mirrors, rand new oem rubber trunk gasket still in it's packaging, new NGK copper spark plugs, ndaTiming Belt Tensioner Water Pump Valve Cover Gasket Kit containing the following items:Engine Timing Belt Tensioner Roller,Engine Timing Belt,Engine Water Pump,Engine Valve Cover Gasket,Engine Timing Belt Tensioner Spring,Engine Coolant Thermostat,Engine Crankshaft Seal,Engine Camshaft Seal.
The car is garage kept. I know it's the Holidays, o I've no problem in keeping it stored while we work out a time to collect the car. I've set a reserve price of $2000 which I think is reasonable. I'd like a deposit (non-refundable!) of $250 and then the balance in cash when the car is collected. The auction options show full payment in 14 days but we can discuss. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
