1988 528e Manual 5-Speed Red Leather InteriorE34 bumpers, 34 wheels, ires with a great amount of tread.E39 540i shifter
Around 130hp, round 170 lb. ft. torque with a feisty inline 2.7L 6 Cylinder Engine.
Spent more than $2300 fixing it up, ncluding rebuilt drive shaft, adiator hoses replaced, uel lines replaced, ie rods, ushings, uel filter, mong several other things. Replaced transmission oil and engine oil.Mechanic said clutch is strong, hifts excellently.Electronically adjustable mirrors, river and passenger seat, oon roof.
A/C blows, eater works.
Red interior has some blemishes, ot too many, ut passenger seat has some rips in it, nd driver's side has a couple. Only thing that parallels other older BMW's is a cracked dash.
Exterior paint is ~7/10, etter when compared to other e28's or e30's. Has a few scratches and dings.Oxidation that is present is minimal, specially compared to other e28's and e30's that usually have a lot of oxidation.Receipts show I took great care of the car, t is a fantastic little car
Speakers are blown, adio antenna does not fully extend. Those issues were present when I bought the car. I, owever, lmost always listen to my own music when driving the car because the "blowness" of the speakers is not that bad.Plus I am throwing in an Alpine stereo (not cheap), nd an auxiliary input for the phone to play music through is installed.
Yakima roof rack and the tray are both included with purchase, ooks great on the car.
There is no way I would ever purchase an automatic e28 after driving this manual. Manual transmission makes all the difference with these cars, specially one mechanically maintained as under my ownership. Only selling because I bought an e39 M5 and can't keep both in the garage.
Hopefully this goes to another enthusiast.
Odometer is stuck at 129073.P.O. said it became stuck under his ownership, nd that he drove around 30 miles a day max. This estimate, xcluding time off work/not driving, ould add up to about 10,950, hich added to the stuck odometer, ould read 140023. Besides taking his word for it, here is a bit of proof to the mileage, eing that the issues the car had in my ownership would happen at about the 140-150k mark.
Auto check says that the mileage 129073 was clocked in at 9/30/2012. Around 3 years of driving, ar probably has 140k to 155k. Costs about $200 and some change to have the odometer fixed, f you want to have it fixed. I didn't care to.
This is very low mileage for this year, nd, gain, he car drives fantastically. I love it, nvested time and money into it, nd would keep it if I had the space.Credibility wise, drove it on two 350 mile trips, nd it never made a single weird noise, or did the engine skip a beat. Beautiful classic car that drives and drives and drives. The little crackle the engine gives when the gas is let off is music in itself. To my best knowledge the car has a clean title, s the Auto Check on Ebay states.

Addition to condition- if you look very closely at picture 9 that shows the right side of the car, ou can see that there is akey-like scratch on it. That is why I mentioned dings and scratches in the described condition box. I had it worked on a little bit by a person familiar with car body's, o it is not as noticeable as it was when I bought it.
