Hello Econoline lovers. Here is a 1961 Ford Econoline pickup I saved from being destroyed. I found this truck more than 15 years ago behind a building in our town. It has not been used since 1970. The engine was stuck and in need of repair. My son and I removed the original engine and over hauled it. The motor has been bored out and new pistons, ings, ins, nd rod and main bearings. Oil pump, iming chain and gears. and redone head with valve guides and valve job. Block boiled out and new frost plugs and anti freeze. I don't remember if I put a clutch in it or not. We rebuilt the brakes with new cylinders and shoes and hoses. I machined the brake drums and packed the wheel bearings. Believe me or not! but we did this in the year 2000. I have driven the truck 1 MILE since this work was done. We drove to the corner a half mile away and back again, nd it has not left the yard since. My son moved away and has not shown any interest since then. I have other things I want to do worse than this. A long the years I have picked up extra pieces for it. I have a good USED windshield for it with good USED corner windows and side glass pieces. I just recently bought a carb kit for it and will redo the carb for you. It is gummed up and accelerator doesn't work, o a kit is needed. AGAIN this motor has 1 MILE on a complete overhaul. The engine is the original motor for the truck. I'm sorry but I can't remember if it is a 144 or 170 CID It has been to long and I've done to many things to remember! I want this truck restored NOT left to rust away. The body is very good for the age and will take little to fix up. Manly surface rust and fading paint. Never been painted or under coated. This truck was used to diver truck parts from a parts house in this town from new.Any questions just ask and I will respond back to you. Thanks.
