Description

**Please visit 503motoringsales.com for full pictures and description** The McLaren 675LT made its world debut at the 85th International Geneva Motor Show on 3 March 2015, ith a clear focus on light weight, ptimised aerodynamics, ncreased power, rack-focused dynamics and driver engagement – all key attributes of a ‘Longtail’ McLaren. Offered only as a coupé, he new 675LT will be the most track-focused model in the McLaren Super Series. The new 675LT is the first McLaren in nearly two decades to be known as a ‘Longtail’. It has been inspired by one of the purest GT sports racers of all time: the McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’. The ‘Longtail’ was the ultimate evolution of the McLaren F1 GTR, he car which dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995. Developed specially for the 1997 FIA GT1 Championship, he elongated silhouette reduced drag and increased downforce – and earnt it the ‘Longtail’ nickname – and combined with extensive weight-saving measures, t was the purest competition version of the McLaren F1 ever built. Building on the ‘Longtail’ ethos, he 675LT produces 40 percent more downforce than the 650S, hich it sits alongside in the McLaren Super Series. This dramatic change starts with the prominent carbon fibre front splitter, hich works the air harder, nd complements new front wing end plates to increase downforce levels over the front bodywork. The turbulent air from the front wheel arches is ‘cleaned’ as it flows towards the rear bodywork by sculpted carbon fibre side sills. An enlarged ‘door blade’ intake, ogether with a subtle air intake incorporated ahead of the leading edge of the rear wheel arch, oth feed cool air into the side-mounted radiators. The aero balance is optimised by the active ‘Longtail’ Airbrake, hich tails the 675LT. This new ‘Longtail’ Airbrake is 50 percent bigger than the one fitted to the 650S yet, ue to its carbon fibre structure, s actually lighter. Two circular exhaust pipes, orged from titanium, xit centrally through exposed bodywork below the new rear wing. Despite a more complex design, he bespoke crossover exhaust system is designed to optimise performance and reduce weight, aving 1.1kg. Together with the extensive use of carbon fibre for the body panels, long with lightweight engine, hassis and body structure parts, he enhancements add up to a 100kg weight saving – and a dry weight of just 1230kg. The 675LT is the lightest car in its class, nd the power-to-weight ratio eclipses established rivals. Its significantly enhanced M838TL engine features more than 50 percent new components and, s the name suggests, roduces a power output of 675PS (666bhp). That makes for a mighty 549PS (541bhp) per tonne. The sprint from 0-62mph (0-100kph) takes just 2.9 seconds, ith controlled torque delivery ensuring optimised traction off the line. Acceleration continues at relentless pace on to a top speed of 205mph (330kph). Inside the 675LT, he purposeful driver-focused cabin gives even further indication of track potential. A pair of ultra lightweight carbon fibre-shelled bucket seats, pholstered in Alcantara® as standard and modelled on those in the McLaren P1™, rovide comfort and support with no compromise on overall weight. Each of the five LT colour themes is complimented within the stripped-out interior, ith carefully selected materials and colours. The 675LT is offered in five ‘By McLaren’ hero specifications, hich include four bespoke exterior colours never previously offered: Silica White, elta Red, apier Green and Chicane Grey are all newly formulated paint hues. The famous heritage McLaren Orange completes the themes unique to the model. The 675LT is as fully track-focused as it is road legal with around a third of parts modified to suit its purpose compared with the McLaren 650S Coupé and Spider that continue in production alongside it.
