Larger valves, igger brakes, tronger suspension components as well as the all important fuel injection made the tii into the "whispering bomb"... The Kugelfischer injection system was a very costly system to install, ut made a very dramatic improvement to the car. The tii was conservatively rated at 140 hp but was noted to produce an actual 150 hp and deliver over 30 mpg. The system is very high pressure: at approximately 500 psi, t is around 10 times that of modern fuel injection- thus better fuel atomization... Combined with a well designed intake manifold, he tii can produce 30-50% more torque than a base 2002.

This particular car was produced in mid year 1973. From Jan to August 1973, roduction was a very low 1302 units. Cars produced earlier did not have the more sophisticated "3 bowl combustion chamber, hile later 1974 tii cars had less horsepower and more weight due to larger bumpers and other mandated items. This leaves the 1973 tii as the acknowledged "peak year" car. In this writer's personal long term experience, here is a definite 10-20 hp advantage in the 1973 specific cars.

The car has original carpets, oor panels and headliner. The VERY rare optional sunroof works great, elieved to be installed on less than 20% of the cars produced (valuation guides add 15% value for this option). Chrome bumpers and other trim are in excellent condition. Indicated mileage of 05xxx is most likely 105,xxx due to the overall feel of the front and rear suspensions - very responsive, ithout any excessive play or noises.
