1991 318is
m42 engine, 16 valve head, DOHC, chain driven cams,sun roof, five speed, rear wheel drive, 4:10 LSD everything you could want in a true sports car.
And not far from being a good car, lots of potential, but needs love.
I'll start with the good;
new water pump, thermostat, radiator, fuel pump, fuel filter, battery, 14" basket weaves, new tires, new front clip "valence", new "euro" grilles (not pictured) completelydetailed insideand out, the sparetire is a 14" basketweave as well.
all OEM parts, always.
comes with lots of parts I've accumulated with good intentions but never got around to installing.
H&R OE sport springs, newdynomaxmuffler, new tie rods, new "lollipop" bushings, and a used m-tech steering wheel.
The engine runs awesome, no issues there. Good pull, strong steady idle.
However there the car does have some problems;
Even though I've replaced everything, I still can't seem to get the temperature under control.
The gauge reads hot, but after running the engine for a while It's not very hot to the touch.
All that would be left to replace that Ican think of is the coolant temp sensor, which is under theintake by the fire wall.
no AC (meaning no AC components), no heat, springs were heated by previous owner.
Odometer is broken, but has been replaced with a working one reading 130k miles. Actual miles are at about 218,000.
missing a small trim piece on the passengers side. (which I have)
I've really done my best trying to take of it.Always used premium gasand good synthetic oil.
I just don't want to spend any more time and money on it.
Thanks for looking
