The new top comes down to reveal a beautiful interior with no cracks, rips or tares - complete with a 5 speed stick, automatic climate control, power everything and a 6 disc CD changer to boot. And it's as clean underneath and in the engine bay as the interior is. Two different seasoned BMW mechanics have told me that it's the cleanest and best maintained 318 they've ever seen.

I'm an older guy and haven't driven the car hard but have really enjoyed it as a weekend car. I did, however, decide to optimize the car's performance for those times when you're on the interstate and need to merge quickly, so after having the compression checked and finding it good across all cylinders, I finally pulled the trigger and invested in a custom Downing Atlanta supercharger made specifically for this car. It has been professionally installed and together with the 318i's computerized fuel injection engine management system, this BMer delivers smooth and extremely responsive power while still getting 32 MPG on the highway! I know it probably sounds too good to be true, but this has been my baby for the past 10 years and I've spared no expense to keep her in tip top shape. You probably have to see and drive it to believe it!
