2001 BMW M5. rare Lemans blue/caramel. Original owner. purchased from Athens (GA) BMW and delivered at BMW Performance Center in South Carolina. Always garaged. and used as a daily driver until 2010 at 101K miles; only 38K miles since. The paint is near perfect. although there is a small outward dent in the hood from a cooling system failure. All maintenance records are available. The tires were replaced at 124K miles. Clutch 76K miles. battery is 6 months old. oil change is current. radiator/cooling failure repaired at 115K. Fuel pump replaced at 117K. shifter at 108K. brakes at 65K. Current issues: Right valve cover leaks. secondary air system is clogged (since 12/2009. 101K miles) such that the Service Engine Light is illuminated. and thus the car will not pass local emissions inspections. This does not impact performance and the car has been driven in good weather only and around 5000 to 7000 miles/year since this issue developed. Additionally. the airbag warning light is illuminated. Cosmetically. the car has had body repairs for minor issues (front and rear slow speed accidents. and cooling system failure) last done in 2008. The interior is spotless with the exception of a bit of fading of the wood trim on the passenger side due to sunlight. as well as a bit of a loosening of the leather over the passenger airbag. The driver’s seat and console have cracked leather. This car was recently featured in Road and Track® March/April 2015 and is a gorgeous. well maintained. classic car with great performance. creature comforts but without the new technology found on BMWs that sometimes takes away from their sporting nature.
