Description

I bought the Buick out of Buffalo NY in October of 2007. The car left the factory as a Skylark Convertible, ed with black bucket seat interior. It was a 340 car with automatic transmission. It spent some time in Texas as I found work orders from 2004. I brought the car home with intentions of creating a 1967 GS 340 convertible, omething Buick never made. I found a GS 340 parts car and purchased it. While picking up the parts car, was told the same gentleman had a convertible in the woods. It was a numbers matching 1967 GS 400 four speed convertible. Needless to say I bought it as well. Buick made 422 four speed convertibles for 1967. This is not that car but all of the drive train components. motor, ransmission and posi rear end were rebuilt to factory specs and placed in this car. I took the power window and power seat option from the same convertible parts car as well. I utilized the correct tach mounted four speed console and shifter also. The original alternator was rebuilt and used. I found a correct year manual transmission carb and installed a super nice correct "Star Wars" air cleaner, installed a power front disc brake set up and an electric fan for cooling.I also installed a set of aftermarket gauges The body mounts were all replaced as were the shocks and coil spring and a new windshield installed. New weatherstripping All new interior kit from Legendary Interiors including carpeting and top boot cover I installed a nice hard to find red dash pad. The bumpers were re-chromed. I installed 15" Buick Ralley wheels and red line tires. The front tires do rub on occasion depending on your turning radius. The top does need replaced as there is a tear on the passenger side sail panel. The clock and radio do not work and drivers power seat and tach are not hooked up. Top motor works but since the top is always down I did not hook up any of the hoses. The car is very solid and stable. Runs, rives, tops and handles very well as it should with all new components. No leaks or smoke. All panels are original GM and not repops. The floor, runk pans and undercarriage are good. Frame is good with no evidence of damage or repair. The car is not listed for sale locally or on any other site at this time. I do have a modest reserve which is much less than the value of a "true" GS 400 four speed convertible. which are near impossible to see let alone find one for sale. I recommend any potential buyers to come and take a look at the car or have some one look it over for you. A $500 deposit will be required within 48 hours of sell end providing reserve is met. If your feedback rating is less than ten you must contact me before placing a bid or I will cancel it. Winning bidder is responsible for all transportation costs or just "drive it home". It is not a Chevelle or Camaro, ustang or Mopar, ll good cars, t's a gentleman's muscle car. Something different and unique on the car cruise circuit Make it yours at auction.
