Description

1958 Buick Super Coupe

Up for auction is a 1958 Buick Super 2 Door hardtop. Originally from the Western part of the United States, his car has absolutely no rotten sheet metal. One of the most solid 58's I have ever seen in person. I have tried to highlight the typical 58 trouble spots in the photos to show that it truly is this solid. Coming from the Western states, t has also had its fair share of sun soaking. The paint has become thin in several areas, nd has been touched up in places, as well. Overall, t is a fun car that can be driven as is, r can be taken to the next level with minimal investment.

Paint & Body
As already mentioned, he paint is thin and has several areas of touch-up done in the past. It shines very well, hough. Totally rust/rot free, nd I say that with confidence. Typical 58 rusty spots like the undersides of the headlights are spotless. Wheel house corners are chipped up but solid.

Chrome/Stainless Brightwork
This is all original stuff. The stainless side sweepspears have the typical dings on them from the friendly parking lot doors. I would consider all of the chrome on the car to be driver quality with light pitting, very good cores for rechrome or leave as-is. The rear bumper ends and lower rails are rock solid. The top rail is faded just all the other original 58's are. The front headlight eyebrows are cracked in the center as usual. The grille is in good shape.

Rubber/Weatherstripping
The door weatherstripping is pretty crusty, ut it's still there. Trunk seal is still in good shape. Front and rear windshield gaskets seem to be in good condition.

Interior
The front and back seats have been recovered with correct fabric and vinyl from SMS Auto Fabrics. Also, he front door panels have been redone. Headliner is new. Carpet is original but in serviceable shape. Dash pad is in great condition, nd does not sag. Steering wheel is pretty rough, ut could be wrapped with a leather wrap for comfort. I don't think having it restored is worth the cost.

Engine/Drivetrain
The engine runs very strong, nd the transmission works like it should. This car has been several thousand miles since I have known it in 2009. The intake manifold and valve covers were removed, leaned and painted not too long ago. The rear seal has a small leak, s does the transmission. It seems to leak mostly when it sits for long periods, hough.

Brakes
The brakes are in good working condition. I just rebuild the power booster and master cylinder a few months ago, nd completely bled and adjusted the brakes at that time.

Undercarriage
There's nothing really special to say about the underside of an original car, except that it's got some dirt and surface rust. The gas tank looks like it was serviced sometime in the recent past. The exhaust is solid with no holes.

Shipping
The buyer is responsible for shipping cost arranging pickup. I will assist with getting the car loaded and transferring paperwork.

Payment
$1000 deposit required upon auction closing. Remainder due before car is picked up.

Inspections
If you would like to have the car inspected, ou will need to do so before the auction ends. I recommend that an inspection be done when buying a car sight unseen. This will keep any surprises from popping up when the car is delivered to the final destination. I strive to be as open an honest as possible with these auctions, ecause I know what it feels like to be taken to the cleaners on a bad internet deal.
