Rare, nteresting, omplete, uxurious, nd affordable... bet you didn't think you could get that all in one vintage convertible. But this 1983 Buick Riviera convertible has a V8 for great cruising and a rarity that will make everyone take notice. There were less than 1,700 examples built for 1983, hich makes this Riviera convertible a rare piece of expensive history. The American carmakers were not willing to get directly in the softtop game in the early 1980s. Plus, ew people were willing to pay nearly double the Riviera coupe's price that it took to pluck a car off the assembly line and let the professionals at ASC do their custom softtop magic. But the few who did this ended up with a convertible that was like owning a fully custom car backed by a factory warranty. That's why this special Buick has been cared for so well. The white paint shows signs of being factory original, nd it still looks great today. That because it's sitting on straight sheetmetal (you can tell how good it really is just by following the pinstripe that perfectly highlights the gentle curves of the 6th generation Riviera.) The burgundy folding roof looks new, nd its color is nicely coordinated with the pinstripe. The care is also in the details such as all the emblems are present, lass lenses are beautifully clear, nd it even still has the original wire wheel covers with special center insignia. The full interior package still looks amazing, hich tells you there was a real investment in maintaining and/or replacing the burgundy on the seats, oor panels, nd carpets. The handsome front buckets strike a nice balance between armchair comfortable and individual support. The burled walnut veneer is some of the most handsome trim for any car in the 80s, nd as expected with such an expensive convertible, t came loaded. This includes power windows, ower convertible top, ower locks, nd cruise control. The air conditioning has been converted to R-134a, o now it's even easier to stay cool even with the roof down on a summer day.Under the hood is the optional 307 cubic inch V8. It looks so honest and has extremely low mileage (averaging less than 2,700 miles per year.) The V8 motor was a valuable piece to give the Riviera the right kind of torque to move it around with authority. The attitude on this one is a comfortable cruiser that could take the place of the Cadillac convertible that ceased production a few years prior. That's why it came with luxury driving features like the grand touring suspension and four-speed overdrive automatic transmission. This is the kind of classic that you're not intimidated to take on the long trips thanks to power steering and four-wheel disc brakes.Original on the outside, eautiful on the inside, nd V8 power under the hood a Riviera convertible like this is rolling distinction that will always have a story to tell. The only one you might not share is how little you paid. Call today!!!
