Description

No disappointments!!!! This is the last (and most desirable) year of the rear wheel drive Cadillac with LT1/Corvette engine. I bought this car 7 months ago from the son(adult. 50ish) of the original owner. I had 120. 00 when I bought it. and it had 39. 00 on it in 2007 when he inherited it from his father. One minor accident in 2011. which happened in Arizona. but it was driven there for his vacation. not to be a resident. It has always been garaged. but only part of the time that I've owned it. I bought it to use as relatively inexpensive highway transportation for my past job where I traveled the entire east coast. It has recently been to Fl. Ga. Tn. Md. and NJ etc. a few times. plus taken me back and forth to my office often which was 105 miles from my house. I had another vehicle for "around town" use. It is dependable. nbsp; and performs flawlessly on road trips and around town. Even thought it's been almost all over America. it has always been garaged/driven daily in the in Eastern Carolina and upstate/central SC. It has no rust. I've only driven it ~12. 00 miles. but it has been mostly hwy. with intentions of it being my primary travel vehicle for the next few years. But. I have changed careers. and I no longer need a large travel car. It has been replaced by the Mercedes that is seen in some of the pictures. I wanted smaller. and my 15 year old is a touch more excited about having the Mercedes handed down to him instead of the Cadillac. The miles may increase by ~100 or so by auction end. I have performed. or had the following professionally done:1. A few oil changes. and the last one was recent2. Service transmission. including dropping the pan and new filter3. Spark plugs (OEM. AC Delco)4. Spark plug wires (OEM. AC Delco. and NOT the cheap version. hey are genuine AC Delco). The plug wires are UNDER the exhaust manifolds. if one of these cars has not had plug wires in the past ~50. 00 miles. it currently needs them! That job is a 5. 5 hour labor item. 5. Fuel pump (in tank. with a new OE wiring harness) ($357 with labor and high quality part)6. Fuel filter7. Front brakes AND rotors. premium quality8. Rear brakes with new hardware kit. and drums were turned9. 100% rebuilt rear axle assembly. including all new high quality bearings(including outer bearings). ring an pinion. and Yukon "Dura-Grip" differential/carrier. The reason the rear end had to be rebuilt was due to the pinion seal having a slow leak. Most of the fluid had leaked out over time. and the previous owner was not aware. It had slowly worn the carrier. cross pin. bearings. nbsp; ring and pinion. etc. I decided on the limited slip differential. since I had to replace the differential carrier anyway. It was a little more money. but it was a nice upgrade. (~$1. 50 for everything including labor and $395 differential)10. New tires @ 121. 00 miles. they are still basically like new. 11. Driver's seat foam was replaced/added to. I used to be in the foam industry. I can't tolerate worn foam. Most any car with ~100. 00 miles will have softened foam. and this one was no exception. especially since it was designed to be soft when it was new. The above stuff is around $2500. and I'm taking a loss on that stuff! The water pump and optispark were replaced by the second owner. not certain of the mileage. but I think around 95. 00. That's the only mechanical issue of any notoriety with these cars. and that has been taken care of. The car is amazingly quiet. runs smooth. and drives straight and tight(as tight as one of these is supposed to!) The paint and clear coat is really "healthy" and shows no sign of fading. The interior. including seats and carpet are in excellent condition. Has no bad smells. and it doesn't smell like an old car. The windows. locks. cruise. HVAC. rear air leveling suspension/compressor. and everything else works as it should. There are no lights on the dash. I installed a frame mounted hitch receiver. and towed a few things with it. it is a little soft. but does surprisingly well. It has the same engine (LT1) as the Corvette of its era. and has the same transmission and rear axle that was in the Suburban and 1/2 ton trucks for years. it's definitely overbuilt. and has common/replaceable components. Disclaimers:1. The paint on the top of the front bumper is a little faded. I have not waxed or attempted to bring it back to live. 2. The radio has a small crack in the read-out. doesn't effect the way it operates or the screen. That's it. no more disclaimers. The GPS on the driver's side of the front window will be removed. bit was just suction cupped on. but the wire runs through the dash. and I just haven't removed it yet. The fancy compass stays. the original owner put it on there when it was new. It is stuck with maybe? two sided tape. I'm sort of a lead foot. and I've gotten up to 23mpg in it. I've heard that some people can get a little more than that. I have an AutoCheck report from February. and I can e-mail it to whoever that wants to see it. I live about 50 minutes from Charlotte airport. I can meet you there if you fly in to pick up. I'd feel comfortable driving it anywhere. Cash. paypal (if you pay the fee). or certified check. I must verify the check before/during the transaction.
