1962 Cadillac Deville Convertible Survivor 76000 miles very nice car 100 photos

1962 Cadillac Deville Convertible series 62. One of the most original. unmolested examples available for sale. With only 76000 original miles this striking matching number car not only looks excellent but drives as a Cadillac of this era is suppose too. Sold to the President of Elgin Watch Company June 18. 1962 and then to the second owner in the early eighties. the current owner looked for two years for an original un restored example that was not in need of a restoration but a solid car with no rust issues that he would be proud to put into his collection and drive. This is the car that he found and purchased. An original car that has never been torn apart. no upgraded wiring. no accidents. drives like a properly cared for Cadillac. Included is all original factory manuals 1) owner’s manual 2) convertible top manual 3) Cadillac care chemicals manual 4) owners protection plan all in the original blue Cadillac plastic binder. These are original and not reproduction. Finished in its original color combination Nevada Silver exterior (paint code 14) with a saddle leather interior (code 25) and a convertible top in light sandalwood (#6) the car still retains all of its originality. EXTERIOR: The body is very straight including the driver and passenger sides. hood and trunk. there are no rust issues prior or present in the car. body gaps align as they did when the car left the factory in 62. and it still has the original sheet metal throughout the car and has never sustained any damage. factory date marks are still in the rear quarter drain molding as seen in the photos and on the fenders. Complete with all of its original stainless and bright work in wonderful condition as well as the front and rear bumpers carrying excellent shine to the chrome bumpers. The window stainless is also in fine condition and all glass is crack and haze free along with all lenses. When purchasing the car a complete inspection was performed. the prior seller believed that the car had original paint to the car. we found that the hood and trunk were repainted. an excellent color match and there are no signs of any over spray anywhere. The paint on the car is very nice. no major scratches. dings. or blems to the car. Very deep with your reflection very visible when looking into the paint. Very good weather stripping throughout the car. The top we were told is original. it is not torn or soiled. it is a little dry on the edges of the beading and has shrunk a little around the top of the window frames. it operates smooth and fast and aligns well when latched close. originality was important to the owner so he did not want replace it. INTERIOR: Original. well cared for. The leather is soft to the touch some little stress marks in the leather that give it that patina. it has never been dyed. door panels are perfect as well as the dash. gauge panel and all stainless bright work on the inside. carpets have no staining. all gauges are working correct. clock works intermittently. Power seat is functioning. all four windows working smooth and fast from each of the power points. seat belts were added to the car. Factory steering wheel has no cracks and an excellent horn ring. All interior lights are working. horn. Signals including fender spear lights. Original radio lights up and has power but there was an upgraded stereo that was removed from under the dash that used the upgraded speaker’s in the front dash on the passenger side that are still there. The power antennae operates with a little help. The trunk retains its original material in excellent condition. spare. jack and wrench in its proper place. MOTOR-SUSPENSION-TRANS: The car retains its original 390 CU IN motor. excellent running condition. no leaks. no heating issues. no strange noises. no excessive tail pipe odor or smoking. good compression. immediate starting in mornings with choke working. Points were changed to an electronic ignition system. Very quiet motor. Motor compartment is very clean and original. Transmission is working excellent with slipping and excellent kick down. Suspension is tight with no major play to the steering wheel. alignment is good and braking system is also in excellent shape with only a small pull to the right when depressed hard at highway speeds ( maybe an adjustment) the plan was to put a disc brake conversion on the car.
