1973 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible
118k, 500 V8 rebuilt approximately at 108k by a performance shop.
I bought it from the wife of the previous owner. Unfortunately there is no documentation with the carand she didn't know much about it. When I pointed out the " PerformanceUnlimited.com" on the valve covers she did recall that the the car had been shipped to a "hot rod shop" about ten years ago.The 360 horsepower estimate is what she recalls her husband saying.
From what I read on thePerformance Unlimitedsite and the brief time I was able to get them on the phone it seems the motor was rebuilt withperformancemodifications. The heads had been ported and polished as well as the pistons, distributor was modified, and got a Edelbrock high rise intake and carburetor as well as a new radiator and high output fan. My mechanic thinks there's a mild cam in there as well as a shift kit.The Caddy had sat for about a year untouched but started right up with a good battery andfreshgas. The engine sounds great.
The floors and trunk pan are solid and the bumpers are nice, even shine a bit. The frame is solid except for a spot in on the driver's side close to therearbumper. The hood and trunk lid are where the rust is, they need replacing. The interior is good, the roof has no rips and all the glass is fine. The windows work intermittently, the power top works and power seats, though slow.Overall, the car is straight and complete and the interior is nice, with no rips in the leather or cracks in the dash, just needs light TLC overall.
This is easily the fastest old Caddy I've ever driven, it's great to feel such a huge luxury cruiser launch like a musclecar. I was either going to find a hood and trunk for this one and get the entire car painted or find a nice one that needed a drivetrain.
I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Caddy is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well.I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of shipping to paid by buyer. I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used in the past; they're professional, reliable and have great rates.
