Thank you! 1956 CADILLAC DEVILLE CONVERTIBLE Please read the complete description below. I am pleased to offer this fabulous 1956 Cadillac deVille Convertible. This is a correct code 10 black paint exterior. Code 20 Black and White leather interior and calling for a Tan top which is now white. This appears to be a true 11000 mile car with documentation from 1972. The body of this Cadillac is exceptional with no rust. no filler and no accident damage. There is some modest damage on top of the left fender as seen in one of the pictures. This was caused by an idiot who left it in neutral and it gently rolled into a fence. The paint is beautiful with only some very minor flaws expected with this age of car. The chrome bumpers are original and still hold a nice shine with minor pitting on the Dagmars. The rear bumper is amazing as the end caps have no rust damage and it still has the original stainless inserts. There is some pitting on the side quarter moldings also shown in pictures. Remember every bit of bright work is original to the car. The exterior is complete in every detail. You might notice the Eldorado trim pieces that I assume were installed by the dealer when new. It adds a nice touch. A set of Sabre wheels would go a long way to mimic an Eldorado. Inside again is nearly original. The white leather on the seat back rest has been replaced. A nice job but I would rather have Jenkins Interior supply the correct leather to make it more perfect. The interior is 99% complete missing only the gear shift knob. Possibly McVeys will have this. The original boot cover has been replaced with a white vinyl one to mimic the top. It will be included in the sale. The trunk is complete with jack. correct spare and tools. The engine compartment has been nicely maintained over the years and it appears that some decals have been replaced. Notice how original and correct the oil bath air cleaner assembly is. I have provided many undercarriage pictures. It is so nice and nearly original (the fuel tank has been replaced) that it is easy to believe the 11. 00 miles. Particularly look at the out rigger body supports – they all are intact with no rust. When did you see that? Mechanical issues are contained to the top operation. There is a leaking hydraulic hose at the pump. As long as fluid is in the system it will work meaning that the electric motor and hydraulic pump are all functioning. There is a slight peck from the hydraulic lifters but the more I drive it the quieter it gets. I have not changed the oil nor added any so this would be the first thing to do.
