Mechanical: The Caddy has always been regularly maintained. everything feels just as it should; from the huge doors that close without slamming. the easy acceleration to the firm brake pedal. She's powerful. smooth and quiet. just a pleasure on the highway cruising along at 75. If you've had a 60's Caddy convertible you know how they can begin feeling "loose" and rattle-y if not properly maintained. The a/c has not been retrofitted but all the a/c components are hooked up including the compressor. it still has some R12 in the system. The climate "wheel" controller will sometimes not engage. you need to flip back and forth between the positions for the fan to turn on. The windows all work well. no "help" necessary. as does the power top. raises and lowers with the flip of the switch. The original top switch was replaced with a toggle switch under the dash. My mechanic told me he believes it's the original mileage considering the overall mechanical and cosmetic condition. The 472 feels nice and strong. it's one of the best Cadillac motors ever. Cosmetics: the interior is very nice. the leather overall is in good condition. even the driver's seat does not show wear. The dashboard is nice with no cracks. nbsp;door panels. rear panels are good with a small crack on the driver's door armrest and the visors are in very good original condition. the interior is complete with no missing parts. The seams on top of the rear seat are beginning to come apart. The original radio has been replaced by a modern cd/mp3/ipod controller with new speakers. The convertible top was replaced about 5 years ago with a premium. heavy duty canvas top and glass back window. The frame and trunk are solid. the Caddy has never been hit or had any kind of body repair and the chrome. while original. still shines nicely when polished. The car was repainted cheaply about 15 years ago and is beginning to show its age. small bubbling and paint cracking here and there. it's a good "ten footer". I've got the later 70's "spoke" style Caddy hubcaps on now. I can put the originals back on if desired. The Caddy emblem covering the trunk lock is back on the car. She's never been out in the winter. she's always been a "Garage Queen". I'm only selling the Deville due to finances as you can see from the lack of a reserve price. The photos you see here are ones I took for classic insurance last spring. I should have more now that winter has backed off a bit. She's been under a cover in the garage since October. I started her up and let her run every couple of weeks. I don't think I've put 500 miles on the Caddy since I've owned her. Engine starts easily even after sitting for weeks. the garage floor is always dry when I pull her out. She cruises nicely on the highway. 375 horsepower 472 V8 moves this big girl up the highway with ease. She idles perfectly. shifts smoothly. nbsp;brakes evenly and the suspension is luxurious. The brakes were a bit "grabby" when I took her out for the first time last week but it may just be from not being driven; the power and Caddy driving pleasure were all there. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Deville is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well. I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary. cost of shipping to paid by buyer. I can recommend a good door to door auto shipper if you need one.
