1962 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible You are viewing a nicely restored impala. The build started in 2008 and finished just recently with 1. 00 miles driven since done. The odometer was rolled back when completed. Full folder of receipts to support the build. Please read on for more particulars of the car: Body/Paint: The car was solid to begin with original steel with a few exceptions. The lower rear quarters were replaced with patch panels. Also. the floor was completely replaced with two piece floor pans along with rear body mounts. The trunk pan is original. The body was in very good condition at this state. Scotts Motorsports of Spokane. WA did the body work and feather filled was used to get the body super straight prior to paint knowing that black was going to be uses. Primered and blocked many times and sealed providing an excellent base for paint. DuPont base/clear 2008 Honda red and chrome base black was used. Cut and buffed. but has not been polished yet. Interior: Stock with 2008 Impala front seats with driver's side power seat. Cloth/vinyl combo used for comfort. Under dash control with temp. oil. volt and single CD player with two speakers. The entire interior was done by C&B of Spokane. WA. Very nice and professional. Cut down Impala steering wheel with stock column. Power steering. Power brakes and power driver's seat. Original radio in place. but not hooked up. New carpet and dash pad. new AC. SS passenger side SS dash handle has not been replaced. Top: Power top and boot also restored by C&B of Spokane as well as the frame and weather stripping. Fits and looks very nice. Running Gear: New GM ZZ4 350 crate engine 355 horse power. Deluxe. which came with carb. distributor. pulley system and AC. Trans is a TH 350 rebuilt with mild shift kit. Rear end is stock rebuilt with 308 gears. non posi. Suspension: The frame was totally restored and in excellent condition. Front and rear suspension restored with new bushings. etc. Body mounts are in excellent condition with rubber donuts replaced. Upper A arms replaced with adjustable after market and dropped spindles. New fuel lines and tank with sender. New shocks. Power steering box was replaced with a 605 box. Brakes: Power front disc brakes with stock drum restored. Brakes line also replaced. Exhaust: Ceramic coated headers with the remaining stock as original with low tone Magnaflow mufflers with 2 ¼ in pipes. Bright work: Mostly original to the car with front and rear bumpers re chromed. The rest of the bright work is presentable. but showing some wear. The rear trunk lid back Impala cover is not installed and does not come with the car. Rocker trim also is not installed and does not come with the car. Grille is new aftermarket. Glass: Windshield is replaced as well as door glass and frames. The quarter glass and frames are original to the car in very good condition. Wheels/Tires: Used chrome Cragars in very good condition. Front are 15x7 with 215/60 R15 tires in good condition. Rears are 15x8 with 245/60 R15 What doesn't work: AC is new. but has not been charged. Factory radio is not hooked up and horn does not work. Summary: The car represents a quality body off rotisserie restoration. but not totally finished out. The plan was to finish and keep to drive. but other obligations have come into play so the plan now is to let someone else finished the details including wheels and tires of their liking.
