1968 Chevy Camaro Z/28 with rare Cowl Plenum Air Cleaner. I will start my description by saying I have no documentation and can only describe this vehicle by what the previous owner told me or by what I can visually see by looking at this car. I have used Jerry MacNeish 1967-1968 Z/28 Fact book to go over this car and all looks correct. This is not a matching number car and has a 69 dated short block. casting 3970010. I would list it as a DZ 302 but the block has been decked and has no numbers on the front pad. The rest of the engine looks to be all correct with the camel hump heads with no bolt holes. nbsp; a GM Aluminum intake casting # 3917610 with the snail looking thermostat housing. the correct chrome valve covers with the "o" stamped on them. nbsp; a 780cfm carb with # 3923289-DZ list 4053 but it leaked fuel and has been removed. Currently the car has another Holley carb that runs great but is not technically correct. This engine has all deep groove pulleys and the correct dual bracket alternator. Car is a little hesitant off the line but comes on very strong and pulls hard to the 6k redline. This car has the correct original Two piece brake rotors with 4-piston calipers and the small round proportioning valve under the master cylinder. Previous owner told me the disc brake calipers had been stainless steel sleeved a few years ago. Its also has a new cadium plated brake booster. Other items to note are multi-leaf rear springs and a 12 bolt rearend. A Muncie 4-speed transmission with the speedometer cable coming out behind the distributor. The floor pans and rocker panels are very clean with no rust or damage. The interior is Black standard and is in very good condition with no rips or tears. Clean door panels. new headliner and carpet. The dash has the Tic Toc Tachometer with a 6k redline and the clock in the center. both are in working order. Console with the gauge package. The windshield area is very clean and dash pad is also in good condition. Overall the interior is in very nice and not in need of repair. This car has a paint code of 0 - 2 which is listed as Corvette Bronze which wasn't available until January of '68 and a Black vinyl top and this car was assembled in LOS California assembly plant. The paint and body are both in very good condition with no visible damage or repairs. Paint has a very nice finish. it has a nice shine and shows well. The car has Front and Rear spoilers and all the trim is in good condition. Some new parts on this vehicle are - New Front bumper . New Rear Bumper. New Tail lights. New Front light & New Taillight harness. All lights. nbsp; turn signals. dash lights. tachometer and windshield wipers are all in good working order. Overall this car shows very well and I believe it to be a real Z/28 but cant prove it either way. The engine compartment looks all stock original except for the old headers which I think are always acceptable on a Z/28. This car always gathers a crowd because of its unique one year only color and the rarity of a cowl plenum air cleaner which most people have never seen. I am a Licensed Florida Dealer. nbsp; and would consider trades but only if you can bring it to me as I only purchase vehicles I can personally inspect. I would expect the same from any buyer considering purchasing this vehicle. Come see it in person as everyone looks at a 40 plus year old car in there own way. nbsp; and this eliminates any misunderstandings about the overall condition. This car shows great and I can tell you that you wont leave saying this car was misrepresented. because car has no issues. but I find having someone personally inspect any classic car makes for a happy buyer . This vehicle is currently For Sale and I reserve the right to end this auction early provided the reserve has not been met.
