Double click on the arrow below to go to full screen. 1964 Corvette Just about every collector knows that when it comes to Corvettes the first series of Corvettes started in 1953 and were continually modified both mechanically and design wise on the same basic 1953 Corvette chassis and body until the second Stingray series appeared in 1963. It was a major departure and there are many that feel the Stingray design was and still is the best of all Corvette designs. Certainly with their new independent suspension. chassis and enlarged basic V8 motor made Corvette competitive with any sports car on the road. The car in this eBay ad is the second year of the Stingray series and about six years ago received a sympathetic restoration. The private seller bought the car in 1971 from his brother (his brother bought it from the original owner) and it has always been a California car. As was the trend at the time the front bumper was removed to be stylish. Six years ago the car was sympathetically restored the car as you can see from the photos. This car is equipped with a hard top only and as most of sporty Corvettes go it does not have power steering. brakes or windows. The owner has owned the car for nearly 45 years and therefore feels that the mileage of 78. 31 miles are correct (assuming it was correct when he purchased it). The sympathetic restoration included new paint. new chrome. redone seats. rebuilt 327 c. i. engine. new tires. new brakes. new wheel cylinders. new rubber on the doors and the front end and rear end were both rebuilt. The car has had less then 500 miles put on the car since the sympathetic restoration. The private seller who has owned this 1964 Corvette since 1971 is located in the Greater Los Angeles area. The car has always been a California car. The car was upgraded with a 4-speed Muncie transmission and Rally wheels about 1972 and the front bumper was removed as was the trend back in the day. The car only has the hardtop. The seller believes that the 78. 31 miles are original.
