Description

Truck was bought new by my dad in November 1953 in San Diego. He used it for transportation to and from work and some camping. He sold it to me in 1966. I started restoration in 1968. It has a 1959 Olds 88 for the engine and transmission. with 60000 miles on them. The rear end is a 1958 Olds with 68000 miles on it. The body of the truck is in near perfect metal. No rust. has original painted oak bed and near perfect tailgate with the Chevrolet logo. Bed has always had a shell on it. There is a minor dent in left rear fender. which is an easy repair. I installed the engine. transmission. and drive line. with a 1968 Chevrolet radiator. I stored the Chevy from 1970 to date without completing the restoration. The rear bumper is original. in good straight condition. but needs re-chroming. Front bumper on truck is damaged. I have another front bumper in good straight condition. and it also needs re-chroming. The truck seat is original. The steering column is from a 1959 Olds. Dashboard altered to modern gauges. 1969 type. Carburetor is removed. I have 2. and is a Rochester 2-barrel. which was standard of the 371 cu. in. Olds engine. Truck cab had a new windshield and door glass installed in 1969. Driver's door glass has a crack in it. Corner windows are original and in excellent condition. Front axle is original with all new bushings and bearings. Front drums are re-drilled to a 5 1/2 pattern to fit mag wheels. I don't have the original gauges. but the chassis had 95000 miles when I started the project. I have the original chrome trim and the Chevy hood emblem. all in good condition. This information about the truck was written down by my husband before he died in 2012. I knew my husband from 1955. so I'm familiar with the truck. My son is helping me. and between the two of us. we hope to be able to answer your questions. If you have any. ask us through ebay. This is being sold as is. no warranty implied. Buyer will arrange and pay for all shipping costs. $500 non-refundable deposit to be paid by PayPal. with full payment within 7 days of auction close. Cannot take vehicle until funds have cleared.
