FLORIDA. nbsp;is proud to present for bids. nbsp;this very unique 1996 CHEVROLET IMPALA SS IN AMAZINGLY RESTORED AND UPGRADED CONDITION with interesting History of Celebrity Ownership. Purchased brand new by Major League Baseball Legend. Manny Ramirez who was well known as a Powerhouse Batter for the Boston Red Sox. Cleveland Indians. Los Angeles Dodgers and other teams. This car was always his pride and joy and he took it with him to every state he played baseball. During his tenure with The Boston Red Sox. he sent the car to Falmouth Auto Works in Falmouth. Mass to undergo a comprehensive and complete restoration including major mechanical items and full performance upgrades making this one of the most beautifully detailed and high performance Impala SS's available in todays market. Although he wanted a no-expense- spared. restoration. we are told that restoration costs were in excess of $35. 00. not including the original purchase price of the vehicle. Manny always kept this car in flawless condition. garage kept when not in use and never abused it nor was it ever in an accident. After owning for only 1 year. he was still in love with the car but wanted to make some dramatic changes. He kept the SS until 2004 when he gave it to his father in Florida as a gift. Details and description are as follows:BODY:Before any restoration work had begun. every item needing replacement was purchased in advance from the local Chevrolet Dealer and only Genuine GM Chevrolet parts were used. All typical items that would wear out were replaced with brand new ones such as new door seals. nbsp;window seals and weather strips. Brand New Leather Seat Covers were ordered from GM and a brand new Leather Covered Steering Wheel was ordered. Try doing a restoration like that in todays world! All of these parts are long gone! After all items were procured. the car was extensively photographed depicting the most minor details then completely taken apart. carefully labeling each and every part as well as noting exact placement before disassembly. All body panels. including the hood. trunk. doors and the whole interior were completely removed so that there would be no masking tape lines showing and the car would look just as though the Chevrolet Factory had built this one-off car. It was decided to repaint the car in "GRANADA RED" Mercedes Benz paint code# 543 which is still in fantastic condition today with exceptions given to a couple small blemishes on the front bumper and a small ding on the top of the left rear door. either of which are hardly noticeable. The pictures below do not do the car justice. When in the sun. this car looks like it's almost on fire. INTERIOR:Brand New Genuine Chevrolet Leather Seat Covers were installed along with a Brand New Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel. purchased directly from the Chevrolet Dealer Parts Department. A brand new headliner with correct fabric along with new carpets were also installed. The interior is still in near perfect condition. with soft leather. still smelling like new. There are no worn spots anywhere even on the hand controls or power window switches. etc. The interior standard is certainly way above any average Impala we've seen on the market today. This can be attested due to the fact that this car was garaged most of it's life when not in use and always driven carefully. ENGINE AND MECHANICAL UPGRADES:We are told that this car is powered by an upgraded LT4 Corvette Grand Sport Motor with BBK Throttle Body. Hypertech Power Programmer Chip producing almost 380HP.
