Pratt & Whitney 1966 Corvette History: Original Owner: Back in 1966 the original owner was an Engineer at Pratt & Whitney located in West Palm Beach. Fl. He purchased the Corvette new at Benz Chevrolet in Lake Worth. Florida. The car was financed new through Pratt & Whitney credit union. The original owner enjoyed the car until 1967 when he was laid off from P&W and returned the car to the credit union were it was parked outside for sale. Bill a Pratt & Whitney Engineer first saw the car for sale and the asking price was $3550. 00 which happened to be the payoff on the car loan. It only had 4. 00. miles on the odometer and gold line tires. Second Owner: Bill was considering another 1966 Mosport Green Corvette across town on a used car lot in West Palm Beach. The other Corvette had A/C and couldn't justify luxury of A/C which added $650. 00 cost. There was evidence that the car was tapped on the right front corner. Bill Purchased the Corvette and financed it for three years through Pratt & Whitney and remembers his monthly payment was $105. 00. Bill drove the car through the 70's. He had the car repainted in Lacquer for approx $600. 00 and remembers he reached a top speed of 145 mph and the convertible top started ripping at the front header.
