She had purchased the car. in 2009. from a lady that purchased the car from her brother in law in 1984. I have spoken to the lady that owned the car from 1984-2009 & she stated that she thinks her brother in law purchased it new. but she could not remember for sure. She told me she had the car painted in the mid 80’s due to the original paint fading. I’m fluent on these cars. having owned 27 of them & restoring many of them. I had a tough time detecting the repaint but did notice it prior to speaking to her. She also stated the car was never involved in any accidents while she owned it. I have a binder of receipts (see pictures) for the car. with a mileage trail. dating from the early 90’s- current. I have the 1984 title (Voided when surrendered in 09 for TN title) that shows the purchase in 1984 w/38k miles & the sell in 2009 w/62k. The car is currently titled to me with a clear TN title w/the mileage listed. I’ve replaced & few parts & detailed the car. I’ll try to list everything about the car but if you have any questions or want more pictures feel free to contact me. EXTERIOR- Original Code 19 black car. Repainted in the mid 80’s. With that being said. it is not freshly painted & flawless. Best I can tell it was repainted with lacquer. as original. There are a few nicks & chips that have been touched up. No cracks. body seams look great & fender seams look great. Great driver quality that shines great & would do fine @ any local car show or cruise in. Car has obviously been garaged pretty much its’ entire life. Headlights work great with the switch & the over ride switch works fine too. All emblems & exterior trim in great shape. All original glass in great shape. Mirrored glass tops in excellent shape. Original front & rear pace car style spoilers which were an option in 1979. I replaced the rear bumper emblem with a repro emblem. All other emblems are original. INTERIOR- All original Code 19 Black Leather interior. Dash has no cracks. Seats & steering wheel are original leather & look excellent for originals. Carpet & door panels look as good as they did when new. I did replace the shifter console plate. Rear storage compartment is in good shape. A few cracks around the storage compartment door trim but still the best set of originals I’ve seen in around 20 years. Compartment inserts are original. date coded. & in great shape. Original jack & lug wrench in place. All gauges. dash lights. heat. Air Conditioning. courtesy lights. key buzzer. horn. seatbelt light etc. all work. Original AM/FM 8 Track player works fine. the radio anyway. I don’t own an 8 track tape & would not try the 8 track if I had one. Dash clock no longer works. shocking. The owner before me had the t-top weatherstripping replaced. I replaced the door. a-pillar & b-pillar weatherstrips. DRIVETRAIN- Matching number 350 motor. Motor runs great & transmission shifts fine. Mufflers have been replaced with stock style Walker mufflers & catalytic converter removed. New battery & fuel pump installed in 2013. The following work was performed @ a Chevrolet Dealer within the last 2000 miles- Complete Tune up New radiator (original style brass) New radiator hoses New belts New water pump New carburetor (quadrajet) Service of rear differential Transmission rebuilt New valve cover gaskets New intake manifold gaskets Less than 1 month ago I installed the new 18x8 Boss 338 wheels with 255/45 18 Firestone tires. Oil/Filter change 1 week ago. New chrome air cleaner lid (have the original too) OTHER- As stated earlier. I have a binder of receipts dating back to the early 90’s of work that was done to the car. I also have an appraisal that was done in 1992 that valued the car @ 11k. I have an owner’s manual. original dealer brochure & the t-top bags too. I was amazed that the air conditioning was still blowing cold. This is NOT a Bloomington Gold Certified show car. I would categorize it as a strong survivor car. Very solid car that runs/drives great. Hard to find one of these this documented that has not been tampered with & had a single owner for 25 years. NADA shows low retail @ 10630 with the options & has no calculation for mileage. My reserve is very close to that. Reserve price is not a buy it now price. It is merely the lowest I’m willing to let it go for on auction. I’m hopeful that it will bring more than the reserve. This is not a must sell. Both my Corvettes were paid for the day I bought them. I just really don’t have enough garage space to be comfortable. KNOWN ISSUES- -Factory dash clock does not work. -Original power antenna does not work- you can manually raise & lower it. -Little moisture around the power steering control valve. Have not added fluid since I’ve owned it but shows a little moisture. -Catalytic converter removed by previous owner (will gladly have one installed. @ no cost. if winning bidder wishes to have one) -Not an issue for me. but I noticed the factory alarm was unplugged when I replaced the console plate. Figured there was a reason for this so I left it unplugged. TERMS OF SALE- Car is 36 years old & is being sold AS IS WHERE IS with NO WARRANTY.
