1967 CHEVY CUSTOM CAMPER / C20
This is a very cool and hard to find classic '67 Chevy Pick up. This truck came from Montana and was part of an older gentleman's truck collection. He had plans on restoring it but fell ill and passed away before getting to it. My son and I planned on turning it into a cool "old school" shop truck but his interests are focused on his '71 Chevy.
After having sat for many years the truck was non-running when we bought it. We trailered it to Utah fall of 2013. Since then we installed a new radiator and lower hose, ew fuel pump, uel filter, park plugs and wires, istributor cap and rotor, ew battery, leaned the carb and drained and replaced all the fluids and it fired right up. The engine (327 CID) runs smooth with no knocks, ings, r bad noises and appears to be original to the truck. The exhaust is nothing special and is left to the new owner to do what they would like. The truck runs, rives, tops, nd the transmission shifts strong and tight. The carb, although we cleaned it, s a bit "sticky" and could probably use a rebuild. The choke works as it should. The tires are in decent shape with about 50% tread left.
The body is in great shape for the year. I've owned several of similar trucks over the years and this is by far one of the best when it comes to the sheet metal. All panels appear to be original to the truck and there are no signs of any accidents or collisions in the past. All body panels, ncluding the doors and hood, ll line up nicely and all gaps are straight and clean. The drip rails are solid with no rot. The doors shut and latch with ease and the door locks and handles work as they should. All the windows are in great shape with no cracks with the exception of a small rock chip on the windshield (drivers side outter edge).
The undercarriage and frame are solid with minor surface rust but no rot. The cab corners are in pretty good shape (see pictures) but there is some rust on the inside of the cab corner area on the floor. It is definately repairable. Included in the sale are brand new floor pans (both left and right) that we purchased from LMC Truck that we didn't get around to installing. New rocker panels have been installed and the surrounding rust in the floor was cut out as seen in the photos. The wood bed appears to be original and has begun to deteriorate near the front as pictured.
There is no radio and the heat controls are missing their knobs and the turn signal arm is missing. The headlights, ail lights, nd brake lights work as they should. The original seat is in much better shape than most trucks this age. The back of the bench is in great condition with no tears and the seat of the bench is worn on the drivers side (see picture of seat without the seat cover). I installed a seat cover so as not to damage the drivers side any further. The few missing pieces are readily available at LMC Truck and are very affordable.
This truck is a fantastic base and worthy of a full restoration back to it's original condition, r maybe a hot rod / shop truck conversion. With a little TLC this would make a great daily driver as well. Whatever your plans for it I believe it's a great start with lots going for it.
Please refer to the pictures as to the condition of the truck and if you're serious and wanting additional photos of any particular area I'm happy to take more photos and email them to you. I'm a hobbyist at heart and love the classic cars and trucks. I've restored many over the years and others I've just "rescued" from wherever they're sitting, ot 'em running, nd found them a new home. I'm pretty picky and I don't mess with junk or parts cars. The ones I purchase are usually very solid (comparatively speaking) and as close to original as possible.
Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and I'm happy to help on my end to make sure vehicle pick up goes smooth with your shipper. Please have funds in place before bidding. Reserve is set very fair considering what the truck is and the new owner will have lots of value and equity going into it. These trucks, specially the '67's, ontinue to climb in value and they make great investments. It goes without saying that the truck is 48 years old and is being "sold as is, here is" with the understanding that it needs a little bit of work to be road worthy (carb rebuild, irrors, ear bumper or roll pan, urn signal arm). Overall, onsidering it's age and originality, his is a great truck that has a solid engine, olid transmission, ery complete and solid body, nd decent interior.
Please ask any questions before bidding. Good Luck!!
