Description

This 1951 Chevrolet Deluxe was built into a gasser in 2010. The front stub was cut off and replaced with a 2x4 rec tube subframe and a Speedway Motors straight axle kit. The original front drum brakes and spindles were reused on the axle. The underfloor master cylinder was rebuilt. The rear suspension consists of Speedway Motors 32" ladder bars with Competition Engineering adjustable coil overs. A watts link setup keeps the rear centered. The axle is a 9" from a 1959 Fairlane and houses a spooled set of 5.14 gears and Quick Performance 31 spline axles. The rear brakes are currently capped off. The fuel cell is a poly 18 gallon tank. The glass on the car is in fair condition, few small chips in the windshields and some hazing on the side glass as this is all original glass except for the drivers side door glass which was replaced with new. The body is in fair to good condition with original paint, ave for the left front fender which was replaced previous to me owning the car. There is some light rust in the bottom of the doors and some small dents here and there. The drivers side floor pan was replaced. The engine is a 355 Chevrolet with a stock bottom end, lat top piston, skendrian cam, rotopline heads, reofessional products hurricane intake, ED 850 carb and Holley sniper nitrous system set at 125 hp. The trans is a powerglide with a forward manual shift pattern, rans brake and a 4000 stall converter. The driveshaft is a 1350 setup from Driveshaft Specialists. The car has ran is best time of 7.395@89.82 mph in the 1/8 mile at Sturgis South Dakota. On average, he car runs mid 7.50's on the spray and 8.00 without. I ran the car on 110 fuel for safety's sake, owever the compression (11-1) would allow 91 octane fuel. The car is not currently street legal. The car does not have a roll cage, hich is required at 7.35 at our track. This is a well built car that launches straight and hooks up very well. The front axle caster is set at 11 degrees and it steers back straight immediately. A cross steer setup was used to eliminate bump steer. The only issue I have had with the car was that one of the ladder bars bent, e straightened it at the track and boxed in both ladder bars, hey work good now but haven't been cleaned up and painted since the repair. The front wheels are original to the car, he tires are protracs that are beganing to crack from age. The rear has some old slicks on it for storage, he car will need new tires. It was built to run on 31x13.50's.
I'm sure I have forgot something so please do not hesitate to ask any questions! The car has not been raced since 2013, owever I do start it up and run it around to keep everything fresh. I built this car with intentions on making a street/ strip car out of it but my interests have moved on to off-road racing and I do not have time for it so I would like to see it go to a good home! The car always draws a ton of attention anytime I take it out, ood luck and happy bidding!
