BODYWORK/TRIM
The beneficiary of a recent, rame-on restoration, his striking C2 is a decidedly clean classic. During its in-depth rebuild, he car's solid fiberglass was thoroughly massaged to correct most of the typical waves and ripples that came standard from GM's St. Louis manufacturing facility. With those cosmetic semantics complete, finishing phase took the form of aggressive block sanding. And finally, verything was layered in correct Rally Red 2-stage, ccented with a sinister Stinger Stripe and buffed to an impressive, et-look shine.
With this roadster, he idea was to create a super nice cruiser that can be enjoyed without worry. Whether that means an excellent, riginal piece was refinished to like-new condition, r fresh reproduction items were installed, he car's caretakers certainly ensured its appearance is both accurate and impressive. At the front of this old school street queen, ullet-style marker lights, how worthy bumpers and a red, hite and black cross-flag emblem cage a stainless egg crate grille. Behind that grille, razen "427" emblems adorn a 1967-exclusive Stinger Hood. At the sides of that hood, imple heat extractors ride between traditional door handles, classy bowtie mirror and black, tainless-trimmed rocker panels. Opposite those rockers, irrored frames complement a fresh roof and lightly tinted glass. And behind that glass, amiliar Corvette tail lamps illuminate a chrome-trimmed fuel filler and correct Sting Ray emblem above a chrome-trimmed tag bracket, olished exhaust tips and two more show worthy bumpers.
ENGINE
It's hard not to notice a second generation Corvette, specially in a spectacular coat of Rally Red paint. And this drop-top's brutal 427 cubic inch Tri-power V8 will ensure the car is both seen AND heard! At the top of the Chevy Orange block, trio of Holley carburetors rides between a chrome, orrectly-decaled air cleaner and bright, tainless fluid lines. Below those carburetors, familiar Winters intake funnels a perfect air/fuel mixture in to tough, ast iron heads, hich wear traditional steel valve covers. When the juice hits the cylinders, eliable, hrome-capped ignition sparks fresh, tainless-sleeved wires while a stock cam and rotating assembly push spent gases through restored exhaust manifolds. Cooling for that fire is provided by a beefy radiator, hich hangs in front of pliable GM hoses and reproduction tower clamps. Aesthetically, his Chevy's tidy engine compartment is exceptionally well done, raming a modern alternator, resh brake booster and tagged Delco battery in bright decals and clean, atin Black fenders. And the 435 horsepower mill fronts a correct 3904351 casting number and September (J) 19th (19), 966 (6) casting date with a correct 427/4-speed (JE) suffix stamp and a matching partial VIN.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Not surprisingly, he bottom of this pavement-pounding Vette is solid, lean and ready to roll. Behind the awesome big block, familiar Muncie 4-speed sports a correct 3885010 casting number, 1967 (7) Muncie (P) assembled on November (S) 22nd (22), 966 build stamp and a matching partial VIN. That tough transmission twists a stout rear end that's fitted with highway-friendly gears. Turns come courtesy of a power-assisted steering rack. Power 4-wheel disc brakes provide solid, onfident stops. Impressive, rue-dual exhaust funnels spent gases through baritone turbo mufflers. Solid, nvarnished floors perfectly complement a straight, atin Black chassis. And all that reliable hardware rolls on conservative Rally wheels that spin 7.75-15 Goodyear Power Cushion redlines around stainless trim rings and polished center caps.
INTERIOR
Open this C2's tossable doors and you'll find a correct Black interior that appears to have been completely replaced during the car's frame-on rebirth. Seating comes courtesy of firm vinyl thrones, hich are anchored between fresh belts, right stainless trim and a small console that's centered on a fully functional shifter. From the driver's perch, traditional clock and Delco AM/FM radio ride between rebuilt gauges and an aluminum-trimmed glove box. Below that dash, ike-new carpet balances translucent floor mats amid fresh stainless sills. Above those sills, hrome-trimmed door panels hang monochromatic accents between small armrests and traditional handles. In front of the driver, satin-spoke steering wheel spins around a brilliant cross-flag emblem. And behind the passengers, fully carpeted storage compartment boasts enough room for a picnic basket and some detailing supplies.
