That said; it seems every time we think we've seen it all, nother completely amazing car comes through the doors and just knocks our socks off! This eye-catching Nova is a head-turning stunner that mixes 540 cubic inches of Shafiroff Racing V8 with a tough automatic, horoughly updated chassis components and one-of-a-kind aesthetics. BODYWORK/TRIM
Built to be an attention-grabbing showpiece, his brilliant coupe features a detailed, ustom appearance that's highlighted by a spectacular combination of vivid pigment and mirror-like accents. Take one look down the sides of the car's slick body and it becomes very obvious that great care was taken to ensure all gaps are at better-than-factory standards. Step closer to the car's wet looking finish and check out straight and ripple-free panels that aren't plagued by any rust or major imperfections. Grab the car's well-adjusted hood and feel how smoothly it opens to provide excellent fit, hich is set off by a glossy clearcoat shine. It all adds up to one top-notch resto-mod that transforms traditional muscle car style into colorful street rod swagger!
The subdued and classy lines of the prototypical Nova are early '60s conservative. And because they're so universal in appeal, hey've continued to gain significant popularity. At the front of this hardtop, familiar crossbar grille hangs green-detailed badging between a fresh chrome bumper, reen-tint parking lamps and half moon-covered headlights. A steel hood anchors chrome "COWL INDUCTION" lettering in front of smoked glass, olished stainless, nd a shaved and filled cowl panel. At the sides of that hood, clean, odernist profile centers custom fender emblems and traditional quarter scripts between straight wheel frames, hrome door handles and green-detailed mirrors. And at the back of the car, uper Sport trunk trim hangs more green-detailed badging between vertical tail lamps and a second chrome bumper.
ENGINE
Under the hood, 40 cubic inches of UltraStreet V8 offers plenty of solid motivation thanks to the fine folks at Bohemia, ew York's Shafiroff Racing. According to the 2006 dyno sheet that's included with our sale, he buff mill, hich combines a sturdy Merlin block with proven Brodix heads, wists 600 horsepower into 641 lb./ft. of burly torque. At the top of the black block, JEGS-controlled Holley mixes high-octane fuel, ourced from stainless fluid lines, ith wind that's supplied by a style-matched, reen-detailed K&N filter. That air/fuel mixture floods an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake, hich centers a polished water neck between polished breathers and polished, 540" branded valve covers. At the back of that intake, n MSD Pro-Billet distributor bridges the gap between a proven Comp cam and loomed MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Below those wires, eramic-coated, ong-tube headers make quick work of spent gases. At the front of those headers, illet pulleys spin a beefy Stewart water pump and polished alternator at the base of a chrome fuel regulator and Auto Gage pressure gauge. Cooling comes courtesy of a green-detailed radiator, hich funnels anti-freeze around two SPAL puller fans thanks to polished GM clamps and pliable hoses. The car's reinforced and color-keyed engine bay features coated hood supports, lever heat extractors and a snazzy chrome latch. And items like trick dipsticks, fabricated overflow tank, small proportioning valve and a chrome master cylinder ensure first class detailing.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Take a long look under this lightweight X-Body and you'll find a whole roster of small modifications that add up to impressive appearance points and big performance gains. The big 540 spins a tough 700R4 4-speed, hich twists an "ULTIMATE-10" branded 10-bolt. Holding that stellar drivetrain off the ground is a fully sorted suspension, hich benefits from a Chassisworks subframe, djustable VariShock coil-overs, ono-leaf springs and manual rack-and-pinion steering. Stops come quickly thanks to two factory drums, wo slotted rotors and two green-trimmed Wilwood calipers. Spent gases are managed by large, andrel-bent pipes, hich make good use of an X-shaped crossover and clean Flowmaster-style mufflers. Power pounds the pavement through Billet Specialties Fast Lanes, hich spin 205/45ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force Sports in front of 245/45ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force Sports. And, ike any carefully preserved classic, he bottom of this Nova is as fit as its top, ith Satin Black floors framing a finned transmission cooler, turdy subframe connectors, olley fuel components and a fresh fuel tank.
INTERIOR
Inside this Chevy, lassic style is augmented with seamlessly integrated customization. The car's bench and bucket seats display pleated vinyl covers that fit without any significant wrinkles or creases. In front of those thrones, green-detailed dash frames a full array of Auto Meter Carbon Fiber Ultra-Lite gauges. At the base of that dash, custom, reen-trimmed console centers a small Lokar shifter between a billet cupholder, bowtie-branded armrest, illet foot pedals and fade-free carpet. Opposite that console, lean door skins center chrome handles between factory armrests and green window frames. In front of the driver, n aftermarket steering wheel laps a tilting column. And behind the passengers, textured package tray hides a custom-upholstered trunk.
