1995Chevrolet S-10...was converted under theDepartment of Defense (DARPA) and (ELECTRICORE) programs as an electric demonstration vehicle along with 60 othertrucks and many cars. Featuring twin electric motors, win drive controllers, ower steering, ower brakes, irbags, egenerative braking, lectric heat defrostand vacuum pumps for operating "creature comforts". Controls include current demand/charge rate instrumentation when driving, attery voltage, electable battery regeneration or "slippery" switching, urrent limiting controls for optimumpower conservation and battery power usage metering.Also found is an on board chargerlocated behind thedrivers seat,a charging port(220 volt 20 amp circuit) found behind fuel filler cover battery warming blankets found under the batteries, emperature controller for controlling the warming blankets. Vacuum pumps are provided under the hood and supply vacuum to thepower brakes.Great tires, reat brakes, asy operation.Thisvehicle isknown as anE-10 by collectors and electric vehicle buffs. It's in original condition other than being repainted about 6 years ago, as seen very little use with only the slightest of wear showing. Pictures shown were dated 2014 but vehicle has been stored inside and they represent the vehicles present condition.Batteries will provide approximately 20 miles of travel, xceeding theowners originalrequirements of 12 miles per day (before the owner retired). Vehicle is used frequently because it's fun to drive. New batteries will of course provide greater range...with the new owner needing to decide of litho-ionbatteries are the most desirable or if the pure lead absorbed glass matt batteries, dentical to the originals are of greatest benefit. If you're interested in a good clean operating electric vehicle...and a truck at that....thiscouldbewhat you've been waiting for. I've owned this truck for the past 6+ years and were it not for the need to be hauling grandchildren and others along most of the time...I wouldn't be selling.
