Description

If you were to take a '57 Chevy and bring it up to date for safety and reliability, ut leave the original character alone, ou'd get something very much like this lovely Dusk Pearl 210. It's still got a small block V8 with a good old 4-barrel carburetor, hose classic lines, nd a stylish interior, ut it's every so much more fast, omfortable, nd safe than it was when it was new. And isn't that the whole point of a resto-mod?Code 821 Dusk Pearl is a really underrated color, nd it's perfectly appropriate on a '57 Chevy, aking a great contrast with all the more common colors you see. With this resto-mod, t's the perfect way to keep a low profile and not attract attention, lthough an old car that looks this good will hardly be able to stay under the radar for long. They clearly took their time on this one, etting the old sheetmetal to fit just so before spraying any paint, nd it really shows. The paint offers just the right shine and a vintage level of metallic, o it looks right, nd the single-color paint job helps the brightwork really stand out without distractions. Of note, his one wears only the 210 trim, ot the upgraded Bel Air inserts, lus lots of polished stainless steel, nd the bumpers have been recently re-chromed.The fully reupholstered interior is another great place where old and new live together happily. The original bench seats have been covered in comfortable, urable fabric from Danchuck that accurately replicates the factory look and offers a clean, edate place to do some business. More than a passing nod was paid to the original patterns, o it looks right, omplete with handsome two-tone door panels. Painted silver trim livens up the dashboard, nd the matching OEM steering wheel adds a touch of natural warmth to the otherwise no-frills interior. It's got both clock and radio delete, ith a proper block-off plate in the center of the dash, nd A/C was neatly integrated underneath to give it a period-correct look. Lots of hush mat was used throughout the interior to keep it cool and quiet and the factory gauges look great. In the trunk you'll find a reproduction rubber mat, full-sized spare tire, nd exactly zero rust anywhere. The small block V8 under the hood is a crate 350 with more than 300 horsepower, ut it looks quite correct. The block is still dressed in Chevy Orange and with simple stamped steel rocker covers it looks like 1957. But in the interest of keeping the car up to contemporary performance standards, t now wears an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and 327 intake, s well as a snarky dual exhaust system with a nice mellow tone. A big aluminum radiator keeps it cool without issues, ll the wiring is new, nd a dual reservoir master cylinder feeds a set of front disc brakes, hich are a critical safety feature. A TH350 3-speed automatic replaces the PowerGlide, ut still spins the original GM 55P rear end with 3.55 gears inside, o it cruises easily. The suspension was rebuilt and things like the fuel lines, rake lines, nd gas tank are brand new to ensure reliability. 17-inch REV wheels emulate the classic Torque Thrust and wear 235/55/17 performance radials.A clean, unctional, ighly road-worthy '57 should be on everyone's wish list, nd if you like to drive, his one is an outstanding choice.
