Here is a very solid, early rust free, 64 Chevy panel delivery. This belonged to a neighbor of mine and it was in his family for years. He sold it to an employee and it got rode hard and put away yet for about a year and a half. It originally was a V8 automatic delivery truck with zero options. Not even a heater. It still has the delete plate on the dash.
I believe it has always been in Arizona as most of the body shows no rust. The bottoms of the front fenders, owever did get packed with dusty dirt that held what little rain we get here in the lower pockets and have some bondo in them. There are two quality patch panels included in the rear of the truck. Anywhere else where you might expect rust to form is solid as a rock. The bottoms of the doors, he door jambs, he rear doors and lower sill is all exceptionally rust free.
The body did pick up a half dozen good dents from the employee before hetoasted the motor. All of them are fixable and shouldn't require any parts, ust a good bodyman. Remember this truck is built out of thick steel. The original chrome bumper and brackets are in the rear. The bumper is dented, ut is good to rechrome. I think the originals are nearly twice as thick as the reproductions. The grille made it through the ding fest relatively unhurt. It looks good with just the normal wear you would expect from a 51 year old truck.
The dash is complete with the original gauge cluster. It looks to be in good shape. The automatic transmission gear indicators are still on the column. It has two bucket seats with seat belts, ut they are not original to the truck. I believe this came with just the one bucket seat. The door latches, indow regulators, nd rear door stops are all in good working order. The door gaps all look good except the right rear door where the hinge mount stress cracked and is loose. Again, ll of the parts are there, t will just take some work to put it all in good condition. This was a working truck for nearly five decades, t has character and battle scars that testify to it taking the abuse of a utility truck and still surviving to get the job done. This could be put back into the field for more use or turned into a modern day cruiser with all the luxury of an Escalade. It certainly has about double the interior space of any Escalade I have been in.
In the back are some spare parts picked up over the years. There is two front turn signals, pair of later model bumpers, he original radiator, nd a modern aluminum radiator that may or may not fit. There is a ton of room under the hood, o I think anything will fit.
From what little I can tell the steering and suspension all seem relatively slop free. This truck has the coil spring rear that is super easy to either raise up like a 4X4 or slam it to the ground with some bags. I really like the truck, ut as you can see I have the old car bug Bad. I just don't have room for all of them. I have a clean clear Arizona title. and the bidding starts at a buck with no reserve.
The usual Ebay rules apply. No Nigerian Princes. Make sure you check with your, ife, usband, irlfriend, ignificant other, riest, oberman, strologer before dragging a project home. All funds must clear my bank before the truck leaves my possession. Half of final bid in five days, he rest in ten days. I can store if for a month. Bid often, id high and Good Luck. I reserve the right to sell it or trade it or fall in love with it and sell something else.
