This is a 2.5 year old and about 2,300 miles on a frame up restoration that took hundreds ofhoursand a ton of money to complete this beautiful car.This car turns heads everywhere it goes becauseof the striking Red color,straight body and that cool sound of only a big block can make !Anyone would feel proud to own such a beautiful car and now you too have that chance.This rare beautyhas always been a southern car living its life in the carolinas with its 2 owners.In 1966 the production of Impalas was cut in half (about107k) total due to the fact of releasing a new modelCaprice !! Not only cutting the production in half but limited the amount of 4 speed cars built to around 20%.You will find that most 1966 Impalas haveautomatics and small blocks and that is what makes this car rare.There is over 45k plus hundreds of man hours to make a car look this good.The body was completely strippedwith media blasting then primed.Every spot was fixed with the greatest details.There was 2 gallons of Red PPg applied then block sanded to perfection and then cleared,blocked again and buffed to a high luster.All the bodychrome has been replaced or rechromed,nos was used if it could be found.No money was spared.The suspension in the front was completely replaced with newcomponents including all the brake parts(brake booster,mastercylinder,all wheel cylinders,brake lines,hoses,bearings,drums.The original 12 bolt Posi 3:73 rear end was completely taken apart and replaced all the bearings,seals and clutches in the posi unit.The brakes,drums and lines were all done too.The 4 speed M20 Muncie was completely rebuilt and during the rebuilding all thecomponents were sent out to bemicro-polished that alone is over 1k. The micro-polishing makes the transmissionshift so smooth.The shifter has been rebuilt with all new bushings.
The interior of the car has beenreplaced with all new parts such as door panels,headliner,carpet,seats,seat beltsdash pad.The original radio was replaced with aKenwoodstereo w/a CD player and a remote control, istening througha pair of 6x9 Kenwood speakers.All the door and truck seals have been replaced.The rocker panel covers, mblems,rear deck lid,window cranks and custom made floor mats.
The engine 396 is correct for the car and has been completely redone. The engine has been bored .030 bringing the the cubic in. to 402 the pistons are forged TRW 10:1 comp,Cam and lifters are from Crane.The cam is more like what the 375 HP engines had in them.All the valves have been replaced with 2.19 and 1.88 Manley stainless steel valves,comp cams valve springs and retainers,Manley Pushrods,Crane roller Rockers,cloyes roller timing chain,Mellings oil pump,Edelbrock Performer Intake with a 650 Holley,custom made valve covers, ookercompetitionplus ceramic coated headers,6223 forged Nitrated crank ground 10/10,Rebuilt connecting rods and put ARP rod bolts back in. The complete assembly has been balanced.The valve seats have been replace with all harden seats so not to worry about this great gas we have !!!This engine will run @160-180 degrees even in the 90 deg day.The car was made to be driven,its not some trailer queen.The car rides and drives better then when the car was new.The owner is in his 60's and doesn't have time to go for rides anymore.I am setting the reserve a little low so I believe that someone is going to get a great car for a super price.Please don't bid if you cannot pay for the car.You have to pay 500.00 instantly and after that a wire transfer to my bank.You are welcome to come and see the car anytime you want.I have done my best in the video and slide show to show all of the car and for you to see how straight the car really is.As far as shipping the car I may deliver the car myself in a enclosed trailer for a fee or you can choose whatever way you want.Bid with confidence because this is really a great car .
