Many of our photos of this special Grand Sport were taken here at the Flight Museum. This is number 799 of only 1000 produced in the 1996 model year only. The Grand Sport edition C4 Corvette features Admiral Blue paint with white GS-specific stripes. The red hash marks are reminiscent of Corvette's racing history. The GS cars wear wider rear rubber. This example retains its factory wheels. recently fitted with Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR radials all around. The rear tires are the correct sized 315/35ZR17s while the front wheels wear 275/40ZR17s. NITTO NT55 rubber. This stance is perfect. This is a turn-key collector quality Corvette. The original number's matching LT4 engine runs excellent. The engine compartment is exceptionally clean and well detailed throughout. This car features a few bolt-on additions. easily removable if desired. We have custom LT headers & a Corsa exhaust system along with a BBK Power Plus throttle body & SLP breather assembly. The LT4 powerplant is very different from the LT1. These engines feature better flowing cylinder heads. a free-flowing intake manifold and a special rotating assembly. The crank and the block have modifications from GM to handle the extra power. These engines were conservatively rated at 330 horsepower. The interior is in excellent condition. The black leather seating shows well as does the carpeting. Grand Sport floor mats & a rear cargo mat have been fitted in this car to further protect the interior. This GS is optioned with preferred equipment group #1 which includes the BOSE stereo system & 6-way power driver's seat. The ZF 6-speed manual transmission shifts precisely through each gear. A short-throw shifter has been installed. There are a few distinguishing features in the 1996 Corvette Grand Sport's interior. namely the embroidering on the seats & a higher redline tachometer. All of the features on this Corvette are working. including the electronic climate control. power driver's seat. window. and instruments. The rear storage area is clean and detailed. The carpeting is in excellent condition throughout. The rubber seals are in great shape also. The undercarriage is indicative of the low mileage and garage-kept condition. This factory underbody is simply in great shape. Note the clean and detailed engine and transmission underside along with the stout GM Dana 44 rear axle. specific to the 6-speed backed '96 Corvettes. The exhaust system was replaced with a bolt-on specific system from Corsa. showing and sounding excellent. This exhaust system is paired with custom LT smog-legal headers. There are some tiny chips on the front end and hood edge. pictured above. Altogether. this is a very nice Grand Sport with low original mileage.
