Description

First off, own this car outright, nd my main reason for selling it is to use the funds for my business. I will probably just refinance it if someone doesn't buy it quickly at this crazy low price. Secondly, ou're buying a beautiful car with absolutely nothing wrong with it. If you have any question, eel free to call my office at (775) 546-2011.
Below is as much info as I can give on the car:
This is in Mint condition. Taken care of by mainly one owner. First owner drove 300 miles, hen sold it to me. Since then it has been garage kept, ever in the rain, nd kept in just all around spotless condition. Most miles come from driving the California coast line (which was absolutely amazing in this car). Very clean, op shape.
What is really amazing about this car is the transformation from an American muscle car to this... This is nothing like the American muscle car it started life 50+ years ago like. Today this has even more horsepower. It still puts down the power to the rear giving you that "thrown back in your seat" smile on your face, ut it is also WAY lower to the ground, nd its suspension just hugs the road as you drive. I just got back from racing Lambos and Ferraris, nd they were truly amazing, ut when I got back and drove my car around some turns in my street, remember thinking to myself "It's funny I paid $60,000 for this car, ut I can not only keep up with these Lambos on the track, ut I can actually beat them in this thing! Haha!"
That moment is what changed my perspective from "this is a muscle car" to "No, his is a Supercar with a crapload of power!"
I think I should point out that what it felt like when I went to the track and dove the Lamborghinis and the Ferraris, ecause it's important to know that you're buying an experience and not a statistic.
Lamborghini: it felt like driving a brick - the starts were hard and the stops were hard. It actually took me longest to get around the track in it because it was so unfriendly to the driver. This is what I love about the Camaro ZL1 - When you drive it, t feels good. The whole car is just accurate. It accelerates, urns, nd stops smoothly. And more than being accurate, t's freaking fun! You'll find yourself blazing down on-ramps, itting the paddle shifter to slam into 3rd just as you're getting on the highway. You'll end up pushing corners harder and harder each time to see just how much you can stick. (Personally I had one of the best times of my life when I pulled 1.4 Side force Gs on an on-ramp once - You can use the car's headsup display Lateral G feature to show you how many Side Gs you're pulling as you race around corners!)
Ferrari: It wasexquisite. It was like driving a very fast very nimble red spaceship. It sounded awesome and it felt great too, nd I even set a good time in that car. But, he unfortunate thing about Ferraris is that they suck to own. You don't pay once for that car...it's a constant expense with repairs and not only that, t's a cop magnet too. This is probably my favorite thing about the Camaro ZL1... The Camaro was built with a mass consumer market. That means that they have been perfecting this engine thousands of times more than supercar companies do. The only reason is, hey sell more. WAY more. So this development has given GM the perfect platform to build not just a crazy fast car, ut a solid one too. I have no doubts whether I'll breakdown on a road trip, r a day at the track. I know that I literally can't push it too hard on a country road. This car is just built well, nd even if it did break, 'm not paying thousands of dollars for custom made parts, hey are cheap and in stock, ot even to mention, here's a GM mechanic in EVERY town.Oh ya, nd about driving fast, t attracts cops. Possibly the best thing about owning a supercar that looks like just another Camaro at first glance is that the cops don't notice you too much!
All in all. If you are buying a car for the joy of owning it, his is it. This is why this car won the Motortrend's "Best Driver Car." It's a blast to own, t looks cool, nd if you buy a race car, nd you drive it all the time, echnically you now get the title of Race Car Driver :)
Driving this car is unique, ecause you get to feel every facet of driving a sports car. You get the power of an American Muscle car. You get the nimbleness of super cars. And you get the feeling of pure manliness that just gives you this awesome sense of being alive.
I'm selling this car to help pay for me and my wife's house since I own it outright. I've set the price for much lower than I think I can get. To be honest, ts rare to find this model with the 6 speed, ual clutch Automatic with paddle shifters, ecause they get bought up too quickly. Not only that, ut the ZL1's like this one, re almost IMPOSSIBLE to find with as few miles and this one has and in such perfect condition too.FIRST COME FIRST SERVE, F YOU WANT IT - JUST SCROLL UP AND BUY IT!
If you have any questions, lease call my secretary at (775) 456-2011, nd she can put you in touch with me.I will periodically check the eBay messages as well.
About this car fromChevrolet:
CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 HAS REVISED LOOK, AME UNCOMPROMISING CAPABILITY the supercharged LSA small-block V-8 producing 580 horsepower (432 kW), he 2014 Camaro ZL1 it is the fastest, ost capable Camaro ever, ith performance credentials that include:

  • 0-60 mph in four seconds
  • Top speed of 184 mph
  • 11-second quarter-mile ETs (11.93 with the automatic / 11.96 with the manual transmission)
  • Lapped theNürburgringin 7:41.27.
Few production cars can match the ZL1’s performance, nd all of its high-velocity achievements were conducted with a stock test vehicle wearing all the street-legal, actory-issued components – and no time-consuming equipment adjustments at the racetrack.

More than just power and raw numbers, he ZL1 features technologically advanced and highly developed chassis and suspension systems. They help it deliver balanced, rack-ready handling and braking power to complement high engine output, nd include third-generation Magnetic Ride Control.

The 2014 Camaro ZL1 is available in coupe and convertible models. Each wears a new rear fascia and taillights, ike other 2014 Camaros, hile retaining the purposeful front fascia developed for the unique airflow requirements for engine cooling, rake cooling and aerodynamic downforce.

Additional new features include available Recaro front sport seats, olor driver information center and head-up display readouts and a trio of new exterior colors – Red Hot, right Yellow and Red Rock Metallic.

Downforce-optimized design

To maintain stability and steering response at the speed the Camaro ZL1 is capable of achieving, t features an aerodynamic design that generates downforce to press the tires against the track. The Camaro ZL1 produces 65 pounds of downforce at an equivalent 150 mph (241 km/h) – compared to 200 pounds of lift in a Camaro SS – which was offset by an increase of only 40 counts of additional aerodynamic drag.

Seven elements contribute to the downforce of the ZL1:

1. Front fascia –The front fascia channels air for engine and brake cooling. The corners of the front fascia were shaped to minimize lift, hile brake-cooling ducts in the outer corners of the lower grille opening provide a direct, igh-flow path to the brake rotors.

2. Hood –The ZL1’s hood has a vented, arbon fiber insert, ontributing to both engine cooling and aerodynamic downforce. The specially shaped vents draw air up through the engine bay – allowing a significant volume of air flow while keeping the front tires firmly connected to the pavement.

3. Front splitter –Instead of a traditional front air dam, he ZL1 incorporates a racing-style splitter to help create downforce.

4. Front tire deflectors –The deflectors push airflow around the rotating wheels and tires more efficiently, educing lift and drag.

5. Belly pans –The ZL1 has two of them: one beneath the engine cradle and one at the rear of the engine assembly, ust in front of the transmission. They minimize airflow turbulence under the car. NACA-style ducts are incorporated into the rear belly pan for transmission cooling.

6. Rocker panels –Although subtle in appearance, he carefully shaped rocker panels help reduce lift and drag, hile also contributing to stability during high cross winds. They also provide stone protection with the ZL1’s wider tires.

7. Rear spoiler –The ZL1’s rear spoiler, hich contributes approximately 150 pounds of down force at the cost of only one count of drag. It is taller and wider than the Camaro SS spoiler and incorporates the center high-mounted stop lamp.

In addition to the functional design elements, he Camaro ZL1 offers several aesthetic options, ncluding a bright-finish wheel package, xposed-weaver carbon fiber hood insert and a stripe package.

The exterior color palette for 2014 includes Red Hot, right Yellow, ed Rock Metallic, ilver Ice Metallic, ummit White, lack, rystal Red Tintcoat, shen Gray Metallic and Blue Ray Metallic. The convertible top color choices include black and beige.

Camaro ZL1 convertible details

Because the Camaro’s architecture was designed to accommodate a convertible model, t gives the ZL1 convertible coupe-like driving dynamics and performance capability. Four strategic reinforcements enhance the already-stiff body structure to quell the cowl and steering wheel shake common in convertibles. They include:

  • A tower-to-tower brace under the hood
  • A transmission support reinforcement brace
  • Underbody tunnel brace
  • Front “X” brace and stiffer cradle as well as rear underbody “V” braces.
Additional structural reinforcements in the ZL1 convertible are designed to improve noise and vibration characteristics, hile also reducing unwanted ride and body motions. They include a hydroformed tube in the A-pillars, n inner reinforcement bracket in

Supercharged ‘LSA’ 6.2L V-8

Supporting the dynamic track and street performance of the ZL1 is the LSA 6.2L supercharged engine, hich is rated at 580 horsepower (432kW) and 556 lb.-ft. of torque (754 Nm). The engine’s bottom end uses six-bolt main bearing caps that clamp and lock in a forged steel crankshaft within a deep-skirt cylinder block. Additional features include:

  • Balanced, ightweight reciprocating assembly
  • High-strength hypereutectic pistons
  • Sixth-generation Eaton supercharger with four-lobe rotors
  • Piston oil squirters.
The 1.9L Roots-style blower uses an efficient four-lobe rotor set and compact intercooler to deliver boosted air into the high-flow cylinder heads. The engine also draws its breath through a unique induction system, ith a low-restriction air filter, ual inlet paths and enhanced airflow through the supercharger housing.

Because the Camaro ZL1 uses electric power steering, he engine does not incorporate a conventional hydraulic power steering pump on its accessory drive system. This enhances performance, ecause no engine power is used to turn a steering pump pulley.

Track-capable manual and automatic transmissions

The ZL1 is offered with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Tremec TR6060 “MG9” manual features 30 percent more torque capacity than in the Camaro SS. The higher torque capacity results from a strengthened output shaft, igh-strength rear housing, nd additional roller bearing. The MG9 has also been tuned for improved shift feel, ith a dual-mass flywheel, win-disc clutch, nd triple synchros for smooth, recise shifts.

Similarly, he Hydra-Matic 6L90 automatic has been strengthened to handle the torque and horsepower produced by the 6.2L supercharged small-block. It features a strengthened input gearset with two additional pinion gears, dditional clutch plate, nd a strengthened output shaft and gearset. To make the ZL1 perform equally well on street and track, he 6L90 features three distinct drive modes:

  • Drive:The shift pattern is calibrated for optimal fuel economy, ncluding second-gear starts, hile the shift feel is tuned for a smooth driving experience. Engaging the tap-shift feature on the steering wheel or shift lever engages temporary manual mode.
  • Sport:The shift pattern is calibrated for more aggressing driving, ncluding first-gear starts for maximum performance. The shift feel is also more aggressive, ith a performance algorithm that holds the transmission in lower gears during aggressive driving.
  • Manual:Here, he 6L90 offers the driver true manual control, ith no automatic up shifts, nd staged upshifts for incredibly fast shifts and maximum performance.
Track-ready features of the ZL1’s powertrain include:

  • An engine-oil cooler, dentical to the system on the Corvette ZR1. The integral liquid-to-liquid system is so effective that both the manual and automatic transmissions are deemed to be fully track-capable with the standard factory-installed cooling package.
  • A high-performance fuel system delivers fuel to the LSA engine under any performance driving condition. For example, he system features additional fuel pickups on the primary side, nd the secondary fuel pickup is moved outboard for continuous fuel access during high-g cornering under low fuel conditions.
The Camaro ZL1 is also equipped with a dual-mode exhaust system, hich alters the sound level and character in response to engine rpm and throttle position.

Chassis and drivetrain details

The drivetrain is unique to the Camaro ZL1 and is composed of a stronger driveshaft and rear axle system, eaturing a larger, tronger 9.9-inch cast iron differential housing, tronger axles and heavy-duty limited-slip differential. This patent-pending system is designed to ensure that ZL1’s tremendous power is delivered smoothly to the ground. A rear-differential cooler reduces temperatures in the differential by more than 100 F.

Asymmetrical half-shafts – a 60mm hollow shaft on the right and a 33mm solid shaft on the left – offer different torsional stiffness rates, hich work with the limited-slip differential to minimize the chance of wheel hop on hard launches. Also, he rear stabilizer bar has drop links positioned outboard of the control arms, or more effective body roll control in turns, ith crisp response to driver commands.

Camaro ZL1 features an advanced track-capable braking system, eveloped in conjunction with Brembo. Large 14.6-inch (370 mm) two-piece front rotors have six-piston calipers; the 14.4-inch (365 mm) rear rotors have four-piston calipers.

ZL1-specific 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, hich are lighter than the 20-inch wheels used on the Camaro SS, re used with new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires developed specifically for the ZL1.

Performance Traction Management and Magnetic Ride Control

Performance Traction Management (PTM) is standard on the Camaro ZL1 coupe. It integrates the exclusive third-generation magnetic ride control – with driver-selectable Tour and Sport modes – launch control, raction control, lectronic stability control and electric power steering response to enhance performance.

With PTM, he launch control feature (manual transmission only) automatically modulates engine torque for the best-possible acceleration without excessive wheel spin. When the driver pushes the throttle to the floor, he system holds a predetermined engine speed until the driver releases the clutch. Then, he system modulates engine torque 1,000 times per second to maximize the available traction. Similarly, n a road course, he driver can apply full throttle when exiting a corner and Performance Traction Management will automatically manage acceleration dynamics to maximize exit speed based on available traction.

Five PTM performance levels or modes are available to accommodate the given ambient and track conditions, river experience/vehicle familiarity and driver comfort levels. They include:

  • Mode 1 –Traction control set for wet conditions, ith stability control on and Magnetic Ride Control set on Tour.
  • Mode 2 –Traction control set for dry conditions, ith stability control on and Magnetic Ride Control set on Tour.
  • Mode 3 –Traction control set on Sport 1, ith stability control on and Magnetic Ride Control set on Sport.
  • Mode 4 –Traction control set on Sport 2, ith stability control off and Magnetic Ride Control set on Sport.
  • Mode 5 –Traction control set on Race, ith stability control off and Magnetic Ride Control set on Track. Launch control tuned for VHT-prepped drag strips.
