I believe this car came with a 427 tried to install a regular 4 barrel carb and the throttle cable did not have full throw to fully engage secondarys--but works perfect for the tripower and it is the stock throttle cable from 1968,,the paragraph bleow states that they did make 427 ss el camino and chevelle and the tripower is date coded 1968 and is oval port wich would coralate with the 385 hp mentioned in following paragraph and the car is 4 speed,cant prove it, ut is possible,only found half of the build sheet
