This is a genuine 1962 Factory built Bel Air Sport coupe or commonlyreferredas a "bubbletop", picked it up just like you see it Here's the scoop on the car. The man that owned it before, nstalled a new GM 290HP 350 cu in. crate motor and a modern gm 5 speed transmission. During the engine install, e put in a new clutch kit and he rebuilt the driveshaft with new u joints and a new center support bearing. The engine was converted to a new internally regulated alternator from the factory generator and a new water pump was installed. The engine runs very good, did notice that the wiring looked like it could use cleaned up before giving the ok for daily driver status. The brakes feel good, he previous owner mentioned they were new including the wheel cylinders and master cylinder. The wheels are the wider 409 style with new tires and the correct 62 dog dish hub caps. The paint is super shiney but it is only driver quality, ar was not disassembled for paint, believe is was just masked and sprayed. All the trim, hrome and glass is at best unrestored original in driver quality condition. Has had sheetmetal replacement in the trunk, ockers, ower quarters and floors. I would call it production quality work not up to any high end restoration standards. There is rust in the fenders by the hood hinges and the frame. There is still some interior work to finish on the car like the door sills and window cranks but for the most part you can work on it while you drive and enjoy.
