Tilt Wheel SELLER REMARKS This 1946 Chevy pickup's awesome stance is only the beginning of a very impressive truck. With a 383 inch stroker motor. a cool paint job. and a bed that can still work for a living. it might be the most fun you can have in a truck. The white-on-red paint job is vivid. no doubt about that; you will not be sneaking around in this truck. But somehow. it works really well on the '40s shape which is honest and very stylish. even today. Sure. there are a few subtle mods. including shaved door handles. some really trick vintage turn signal lights. and blue-dot taillights. but nothing too radical. The paint is beautifully done. from the mini flames on the nose of the hood to the CHEVROLET lettering on the tailgate. and the masking lines between the red and white are razor-sharp. so you know the guys doing the work were on top of their game. And while pickup trucks weren't famous for their show chrome. the bright grille and bumpers on this car look pretty darned good. Tinted glass. a peep mirror. and shaved windshield wipers (the motors are still there if you need them) are all traditional hot-rod tricks that work pretty well here. too. And as I said. the bed isn't some delicate varnished wood dance floor. but a sturdy steel box with a spray-in bedliner that's about as neat a job as we've ever seen. The interior is way more luxurious than any pickup truck of the '40s has a right to be. The leather bench seat is a custom job that is deeply sculpted and offers headrests for comfort and safety. a big upgrade over the original slippery park bench that came in the truck. Matching door panels with native American embroidery and billet arm rests were crafted just for this truck. Plush carpets make it feel quiet and comfortable on the road and luxurious inside and there's a custom leather boot for the Lokar shifter. The factory dashboard has new Haneline gauges in a custom panel and a banjo-style wheel hangs on a tilt column so you don't need a trucky driving position to cruise. The tilt-out windshield is fully functional. which makes a big difference on warm days and a hidden Pioneer AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo with Polk Audio speakers makes cruising a pleasure. With a 383 cubic inch Chevy V8 under the hood. you'll have no problems on the street. because this is a truck that moves like a Camaro. The industrial-strength stroker motor wears vintage Corvette finned valve covers. a polished Edelbrock intake manifold. and a Holley double-pumper. so there's plenty of eye candy. all offset by the inner fenders and firewall finished in the same stuff as the bed for a very cool. low-maintenance look. It's linked to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear end that hangs on a trick set of monoleaf springs. A Fatman Fabrication A-arm front suspension includes rack-and-pinion steering and power disc brakes and the purring dual exhaust system has a nice bark when you get on it but quiets down for easy cruising. And you just can't beat that rake! Cool color-matched steel wheels with beauty rings carry 235/70/15 blackwall radials for just the right truck-like look. This is an easy truck to love with all the smart upgrades. and it drives beautifully. Cool. right?
