If you were going to save one car from the dark days of the late 1970s, t would have to be this gorgeous 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Awesome colors, numbers-matching driveline, 5,689 original miles, nd an undeniable retro performance look all add up to a red-hot collectable that's definitely worth owning today.Unlike so many of its siblings, his stunning Camaro isn't brown or tan or beige or some other dull '70s earth tone. And if you need additional proof that this is a low-mileage, riginal car, ust look in the trunk where you'll find original mats, actory jack assembly, nd a space-saver spare tire that's never been used.The matching-numbers 350 cubic inch V8 has been recently detailed and freshened, nd despite the period in which it was built, t still offers the kind of V8 punch that made the Camaro famous. Bright blue paint and a big black air cleaner assembly dominate the engine compartment, ut you'll note that it remains quite stock, hich is rather rare given that this is the most easily-modified engine on Earth. Correct hoses and tower clamps, recent alternator, nd plusses like power steering and brakes make this a car that you can pretty much drive anywhere, nytime. It's quite possible that the exhaust system is original (the catalytic converter sure is), nd it's incredibly sanitary underneath. The 10-bolt rear end offers acceleration-friendly 3.42 gears, o it feels punchy around town without getting too busy on the highway.
