Description

OK I'll try to be as detailed as possible..Please read carefully..This is a 1997 C1500 (Silverado) with a 5.7L 350 engine. I have owned this truck about two years and have put on less than 5kmiles on it since purchasing it. The vehicle has a BLUE TEXAS REBUILT SALVAGE TITLE.. If you run a carfax you will see the salvage was issued in Arkansas but not due to a wreck or flood, ore like an insurance deal I'm not sure why, tried investigating a little before I paid for it but that's all I was able to find out. When I tried registering it here in TX they told me they would verify that and that's why I was issued a blue title and not a yellow which would mean crash or flood. The vehicle shows 142k miles on it although the title in any state will be exempt on mileage.
Mechanically: I've brought this truck to a very reliable state since buying it.The truck starts instantly the second the ignition makes contact. It purrs on the road and rides a handles as smooth as can be. When you get on the expressway and hit the gas you will feel strong acceleration with no hesitation whatsoever. That's the nice thing about the standard cab, hort bed. I'm told its 700lbs lighter than the extended cab. You can run it 80MPH down the highway and when you get home you can literally put your hand on the radiator cap and leave it there and you wont get burned. Usually the temp gauge reads about 125. I recently turned the rotors and drums and replaced the brakes all the way around. It has new shocks all around too. It has a magnaflo muffler installed which gives the motor a nice sound but not overly loud but just right. The AC blows very cold as it should. Once in a while if I'm wearing shorts I feel a slight cool breeze at my ankles as If maybe some of the air is escaping from the duct but it doesn't affect anything. All lights and signals work as they should as for the windshield washer and cruise control. last month I drove to my sisters house five hours each way and when I got home the water and oil were exactly like they were before I left.
Interior: overall I would rate the interior 8.5/10. The factory stereo went bad I replaced it with a kenwood single din unit which fit nice with the install kit. The door speakers are also kenwood with no mods or cutting on the install. It has power windows which work perfectly with no lag or hesitation. The Glass all around is perfect and has a light/med. tint all around. the seats are and headliner are near perfect. the door panels show very little wear but no cracks dry-rot. The dash bezel has a small crack but that piece can easily be replaced without replacing the entire panel as it just snaps on. the carpet is still new but is not factory O.E.
Exterior: The previous owner had the truck painted in 2014 and whoever painted it seemed to to a pretty good job except they painted over the factory door and tailgate opener and it seems to be chipping off only from those areas. Also for some reason they didnt repaint the fiberglass running boards which run from front to back bumper on this truck so they arent perfect. The truck came with a Cowl hood which was painted in the correct color, ut I recently replaced it with the hood you see in the pics which is a GM hood but needs to be painted and has a few minor dings.. or if you prefer I still have the cowl hood I can put back on for you. The driver side door has a ding I just noticed recently after getting out of wal mart. Also has a minor fiberglass crack near the rear bumper. The truck bed has a few scrapes but not a single dent or ding I could find on it so bringing this truck to a perfect 10 bodywise would be very quick and easy for any decent bodyman. As you can see the Fuel and Nitto 17x10's have less than 1000 miles on them and have a negative offset giving the truck a nice stance.
If youre looking for this body style with the 5.7 you would be hard pressed to find anything in this condition for under 20k. I'm not being forced to sell but it would behoove me due to my GF being pregnant and I wanna start getting rid of the extra toys now. On the same token, y girl really loves this truck and is kinda leaning on making me keep it, o I wont lower the price at all. I think for about 4 or 5k you could get this truck in show condition and you have a very solid base to start if thats what your plans are. Otherwise you have a very nice truck AS IS that I still think has many years of life left in it. I've been working in Afghanistan and Philippines for the last few years thats why I haven't been able to use it as much as I wanted or totally restore it as I planned. I will be going back for a few months but have this month off so we can work out a deal I'll personally deliver it to you.
