For sale is a stunning, rame off restored 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. It is 1 of 80 built in 1971. It has its original 402 big block engine and M20 4 speed trans. The restoration was completed in Spring 2005. This car was featured in Hemming Muscle Machine magazine in the August 2006 issue. The car has approximately 7500 mile since its restoration. There have been 4 owners of this car and the documentation of this car is amazing. The original owner kept a log of every time he fueled up and serviced the car. Other documentation include the original order sheet, rotecto plate, riginal keys, riginal jacking procedure decal, nd much more.
The original engine was rebuilt with a .010 overbore, he heads were ported and polished, nd three angle valve job performed. Engine performance was upgraded with an Edelbrock Performer Intake, omp Cams Extreme Energy XE274H cam and shorty headers with a 2.5 mandrel bent exhaust with X pipe. The transmission and rear end were both gone thru and refurbished.
The original paint was GM Code 49 Antique Green but changed during the restoration to a darker GM Saturn Green. The dark green is a base coat/clear coat with a slight metallic hue whichhas a mirror like finish that is far better than the original. The perfection continues to the underside as well, ith the correct factory markings and decals. The original interior was changed from green to black and is in show room condition. The instrument cluster was also upgraded to an SScluster. The gauges were installed because the SS cluster has an idiot light so all three were installed as back ups. All mechanical systems work as they should. The A/C blows cold(converted to 134a), ower windows were also added during the restoration and work like new,and even the 8 track works. The suspension is all new or restored and runs, rives, hifts, and stops like new.
This is one of the most detailed, riginal equipped, ocumented, clean 1971 Monte Carlo you will find. Theframe off restoration was performed by Stephen "Monte Man" Levantis with no expense spared. You will not be disappointedwith this car. Some items have been changed and original parts saved. Some parts include steering wheel, ir cleaner, hifter knob, nd distributor. Please ask any and all questions and I will respond as quickly as possible. This vehicle is being sold as is.I will assist with shipping any way Ican but shipping is at buyers expense.
