57 Chevy Convertible. Shimrin Pearl Basecoat PBC37 Majik Blue Pearl by House of Colors and body and paint work done by Star Side Design in Riverside, alifornia, ith true blue pearl with flames and shades of candy coat pearl basecoat mixed to give the design. Some parts of the frame and panels are powdercoated. The door handles are both shaved, nd the side and rear windows have been removed and filled in. The dash and full-length console are modified and painted to match the exterior paint. The windshield is shortened 3 inches and the hood bullets are shortened to complement the styling up front. The rear view mirror is built into the windshield molding. Ididit tilt steering column with Budnik steering wheel. Heidts tubular A-arms and dropped spindles. The rear end is a 4-link, -inch 4:11 with adjustable link bars. The ride is enhanced with front and rear shockwave airbags by Air Ride Technology. This airbag system allows the driver to raise and lower the car using switches on the console panel next to the CD player. The car can be dropped to the ground if desired. The chassis linkage is stock Chevrolet with a modified 605 power steering box. The master cylinder is a stock Chevy chrome vacuum booster. The disc brakes on all 4 wheels are Baer 13" with 4-piston calipers on the front. The wheels are Budnik 20" Fontana Fat Lips. The mammoth 454 cid Motown small block from World Products is topped with a blown 671 supercharger with two 700 Holley carburetors. 750 hp, 05 ft-lb. Dart angle-plug heads with Motown valve covers and Manley Racemaster stainless steel valves. Full roller Comp Cam valvetrain, 340 forged steel crank and 4340 H-beam connecting rods with Ross 8:1 forged pistons and a 4-bolt main block. Speed-Pro oil pump, ilodon stamped steel oil pan and Manley True Roller timing chain.All engine modifications are balanced and blueprinted.The transmission is a Turbo 400 with a 10" 2800 rpm stall converter. The ignition setup is MSD 6AL. The wiring is Painless throughout the car with Dakota Digital Dash instrumentation. The interior includes seats by Glide Industries with Mercedes gray leather, oor panels and trim work for speakers and monitors. The electronics installation was done by Clarion and Willie at the upholstery shop inBrea,California. The carpeting in the vehicle is blue to match the interior trim and paint. The trunk area has a Fiberglass pod enclosure with injection molding on the inside of the deck lid and lots of Clarion electronics. The following was installed by Wet Works inCosta Mesa,California: AM/FM CD Player (DXZ 835MP) source unit with a 6-disc CDIDVDIMP3 changer control. There are three 7-inch LCD monitors (VMA 7191) in front (which pulls out to view the screen), ear seating area and trunk. The trunk area includes the VHS Hi-Fi VCR with built in tuner; IR wireless head phone system; source commander multi-zone A/V switcher; power system 6.5" separates with crossover network. A pair of 10" (SRW 1043) single voice coil subwoofers are installed in sealed enclosures behind the rear seating areas, nd 6.5 component speakers (SRS 1684) are installed in the front door panels and rear quarter panels. Four Clarion (APX 401.2) 2/1 Channel power amps are mounted on the multi-media amp rack in the trunk with built-in electronic crossovers that control the speakers. The trunk also houses the VCZ 625 disc changer, he VDH 910 VCR and VMA 7191 wide screen display unit. The Clarion MS 430, hich is located on the right side, andles all of the source switching and is accompanied by the Scosche power distribution block. Included with the electronics are three remotes to operate everything. Total electronics investment is near $8000. Definitely a driver and a show car with approximately $105,000 invested in it. Finished restoration and completion in 2010. Current California registration. $70,000.
