STK 2118 1949 Chevy 3100 Pickup By todays standards, his pick-up would be considered a step side - a Silverado from another time. From the solid wood bed to the distinctive dark blue finish, his restored pick-up is an eye-catcher. The body is straight, rue and very solid. The repaint was applied 10 years ago and still looks good. Add Prime Custom slotted chrome wheels and a front ‘bull bar’ with fog lights and the result is a great look. The nicely detailed engine compartment is home for a rebuilt (2015) 350ci Chevy with 12-volt electrics (total rewire) including an auxiliary cooling fan. Modifications include a mild cam, luminum intake and Holley 4-barrel. Exhaust passes through factory headers to a free flowing dual exhaust system. The GM 700R automatic transmission with custom floor shift was a new unit in 2015. Brakes are manual drum and the factory steering box received a total rebuild. The interior is very well thought out. A comfortable bench seat is upholstered with dark blue cloth and the refinished dash houses Omega Custom Vintage gauges. The original radio was fully restored and works perfectly.
