This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle resto-mod reads like a wish list for every car guy on the planet. Look past the price, which is still only a fraction of the build cost, and realize that you just won't get big block horsepower, stunning bodywork, and a custom interior all in one package for less than this. Add in the fact that it's downright gorgeous to look at, and you have a potential show winner that's ready to start taking home some really big trophies and put an equally large grin on your face.We don't see a lot of Chevelles given the blackout treatment, but we have to admit, it totally works, giving this wicked A-body a true Mad Max vibe. Thousands and thousands of dollars were poured into the sleek Chevelle to give it a modern twist, and the end result looks spectacular. They wisely left the factory sheetmetal alone and simply focused on getting it laser-straight. Once that part was handled, they bolted it back together and made sure the gaps were exacting and the panels fit flush. There's a very subtle cowl-induction hood that practically vanishes against the dark charcoal gray paint, and they skipped the stripes to really make it stand out. It was all buffed and polished to an impossible shine that still looks wet, and you'll note that even the bumpers were painted to match the bodywork. Most of the badges and emblems were shaved, and any brightwork that remained was blacked out, so this sucker looks truly nasty. The interior is a study in contrasts, and to keep the industrial-strength look and no-nonsense performance attitude, they stuck with basic black. Those custom Procar buckets work remarkably well in the vintage Chevelle interior, and there's a custom console between them with features like cup holders and a trick shifter for the 4-speed automatic transmission. The dash is full of Auto Meter gauges and they're housed in a cool carbon fiber panel that appears to have been custom-molded just to fit the Chevelle. A tilt steering column and a Grant steering wheel help with the high-performance attitude, and you'll note that even the door hardware has been blacked out. There's also an AM/FM/CD stereo system in the dash, as well as an A/C system is working as intended thanks to modern hardware behind the scenes. The trunk is neatly finished with simple carpets, but sometimes that's all you need.OK, OK, let's talk about that engine. It's a GM ZZ454 big block crate motor with a rating of 469 horsepower and 518 pounds of torque, and if that doesn't get your blood pumping, nothing will. It's an easy fit in the Chevelle's engine bay and it's surrounded with the best components possible. Aluminum heads, a high-rise intake with a giant Holley carburetor, roller cam, and a bad attitude take this car beyond nasty. A custom accessory drive setup handles the ancillaries and the giant aluminum radiator means it doesn't get cranky, even in traffic. Block-hugging headers feed a reproduction exhaust system that sounds muscular, even at idle but never gets annoying. A 700R4 4-speed automatic gearbox feeds a very trick 9-inch rear end with custom trailing arms and a giant sway bar, so it's a lot sharper in the corners than you'd expect. Big 4-wheel discs, tubular A-arms, performance shocks, and other components read like a who's-who of high performance, and the stance is just perfect. Custom blacked-out wheels give it a high-tech edge and carry 245/45/17 front and 285/45/18 rear Nitto radials for a very trick low-profile look. There's so much more to this car that we can't possibly cover it all here. If you can afford it, this is a no-disappointments car that takes no prisoners. And even if you can't afford it, well, it's always nice to see a dream in the flesh. Call today!
