The 1958 Impala is a landmark automobile, and is rapidly starting to eclipse its popular tri-five predecessors in terms of desirability and value. This stunning rotisserie restoration coupe retains everything that was great about the Impala on the outside, a more modern A/C interior, and a thundering 427 big block under the hood. The '58 Impala never looks as good as when it's dressed in black: formal, imposing, and emphasizing the dramatic one-year-only styling. During the build, they were aiming to create the ultimate '58 with a high quality finish all around, so the doors fit extremely well, the gaps are even, and all that glittering trim was painstakingly aligned to give it the look the designers dreamed of in '58. The mirror-like shine of the modern clearcoated black was given the kind of investment that will look great for years and years, and all the correct Impala logos were faithfully refinished or replaced when it was dry. A small fortune was spent on getting the chrome up to shape, from the massive bumpers to the delicate fins atop the front fenders. Plus, whitewall tires and the correct '58 hubcaps are a true hallmark piece. Dual antennas with a three-piece continental kit give a lasting final impression.Although there are plenty of modern upgrades under the skin, the first part of the interior that strikes you is the original-style black, red, and gray tri-tone upholstery. The beautiful door panels feature red inserts, and you'll note that power window switches have been neatly integrated so they look OEM. The dashboard is a big step forward compared to 1957, and the correct two-spoke jet-age inspired steering wheel is beautifully finished in a two-tone, with lots of chrome details. The gauges are nicely rendered with crisp numbers on black backgrounds. But it's not the factory elements that really catch your eye. The custom center console houses some of the best features. This includes the controls for the modern R134a air conditioning. Plus, there's a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/XM stereo that also controls the six-disc DVD changer, Bluetooth, auxiliary input, and backup camera yes, this is true modern convenience in a vintage package!Under the hood is a very cool tribute to the best of the Chevy big blocks. The top engine in 1958 was a 348 cubic-inch V8. This special build has taken this motor and increased the displacement to the legendary 427. It's built for serious performance with Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, custom intake, and Offenhauser valve covers that are painted to match the bold orange block radiating from the slick black engine bay. But what really catches you eye is the famous tri-power carb setup. The full package produces a wicked rumble out of the dual exhaust, and gives this hardtop coupe plenty of good 'ol American muscle. But more than just powerful, features like power steering, power brakes, and the three-speed automatic transmission make this a great anytime cruiser. Complete with owner's manual, there's less than 750 miles on this car since the restoration was completed in 2006. You can see the quality of this custom build right down to the painted undercarriage. So yes, this '58 Impala is one special coupe that's turnkey ready for you to enjoy long trips and big trophy hauls. Call today!!!
