This auction is for a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze finished in Switchblade Silver Metallic with the Jet Black interior. The Cruze is powered by a dual overhead cam 16-valve four cylinder Ecotec engine that has received numerous rave reviews by engineers and the automotive press for it’s high power output, excellent economy and inherent smoothness. This engine features a cast iron block for maximum durability along with a structural aluminum oil pan that reduces noise and vibration, an aluminum cylinder head for reduced weight and greater heat dissipation, variable valve timing for maximum power output at all engine speeds, an electronic “drive by wire” throttle body for precise engine control and an electronically controlled thermostat combined with an integrated oil cooler to keep the engine operating at it’s peak efficiency.

The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control (DSC®). This transmission has low first and second gears that provide brisk acceleration, while the high top gear allows for effortless highway cruising and excellent gas mileage. With Driver Shift Control you can move the shifter to the left and then tap it up or down to shift the transmission like a manual for more control on winding roads and provide greater power and acceleration for passing maneuvers. This Cruze is a rebuilt salvage car that sustained damage to the right side of the vehicle. The quarter panel, a.k.a uniside panel, B pillar and rocker panel were replaced with new parts and both doors were replaced with identical color used doors in order minimize the required paintwork. To that end, the front fender has a small ding that isn’t too obvious looking and to avoid painting the fender too, was left alone. The car was subsequently inspected by the Maryland state police where they thoroughly go over and inspect the car to make sure it’s roadworthy again and to verify the repairs were done properly. I am fully disclosing that this car has salvage history, (although not all other sellers do), which is why it’s priced many thousands below other Cruze models listed here. Eventually whenever YOU sell the vehicle let your conscience be your guide as to disclosing that information. Don’t worry too much about the history, remember, you are buying a car, not a piece of paper. Also keep in mind when it comes time to sell it, salvage history on an older vehicle is not as significant as on a late model one, so if you keep the car for 3 years, 5 years or over 10 more years, an older vehicle with salvage history is only worth slightly less than one without it. If you are one of those persons that are leery about salvage cars in general, then this car is probably not for you. The styling of the Chevy Cruze features clean highly sculpted lines and distinct angles while adding bold and aggressive elements to form a beautiful modern design. The car is in excellent condition inside and out as you would expect a 6,000 mile car to be. The paint has been cleaned with Meguiar’s Smooth Surface Clay System, polished with Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze cleaner polish and topped off with Meguiar’s Ultimate Synthetic Wax for a high gloss shine. The interior leather has been treated with Lexol conditioner to keep it soft and supple. The car doesn‘t appear to have been smoked in. In fact, it’s not even equipped with a lighter. The cargo area looks like it was never used and the engine compartment has been fully detailed and is clean enough to eat off of.

Mechanically it runs and drives excellent. The engine runs strong and feels smooth while accelerating and throughout the cruising range and it starts instantly whether hot or cold. The steering wheel is on dead center going down the road with no shakes or vibrations at speed, the brakes are firm with no pedal pulsations or pulling to one side when stopping and the suspension is tight. The A/C blows ice cold. All the warning lights in the dash come on when you first turn the key and then go off like they are supposed to. It has the original set of Firestone tires in excellent condition.

The Chevy Cruze is as economical to operate, as it is to maintain. Those who drive with restraint can expect over 40 MPG at steady highway speeds. And most systems have low or reduced maintenance components. For example, it has hydraulic valve lifters that never need adjusting unlike some cars that need regular valve adjustments. It uses an oil-life monitor system that calculates optimum oil change intervals based on miles driven and driving conditions. A car that is driven in the city with frequent starts and stops requires more frequent oil changes than a highway driven car which under optimum conditions may go 10,000 miles between changes. It uses platinum tipped spark plugs and an advanced specification transmission fluid, both of which only need to be changed every 100,000 miles, extended life coolant with a 150,000 mile service interval, and a maintenance free fuel filter that only needs replacement if the pump is replaced. Also, much of the exhaust system is stainless steel and should last the life of the car.

While the Cruze doesn’t cost much to drive, it’s still loaded with all the safety features found in more expensive cars. To avoid crashes in the first place, the Cruze has Anti-Lock Brakes, StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System, an All-Season Traction Control System (TCS), daytime running lamps and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). If a collision is unavoidable, the Cruze is equipped with numerous active systems to minimize injuries. It has a class leading ten airbags that cushion impacts, including two front airbags, two side airbags, four head curtain airbags, and the latest technology with two knee airbags that help submarining injuries. In addition, there are passive crush zones and the cabin is reinforced with high-strength steel throughout.

Because of the salvage history, this Chevy Cruze will be the cheapest one you will find with such low mileage until a few years of depreciation have reduced the prices of the other ones to the level of this one. It could be many years before that happens, so if you’ve always wanted a Chevy Cruze but thought you just didn’t quite have enough funds to purchase one, this car may just have your name on it. Remember, you can get a great deal on Ebay with prices sometimes way below retail, but no bidder is going to “steal” a vehicle and no seller is going to give one away either.

If you are serious about buying a Chevy Cruze, this is as low as they go by far. Also remember that we don’t have dealer processing fees or document fees that many other listings have for $200 or more and bury in their fine print. And don’t be fooled by some other auctions that are advertised as NO RESERVE and start at $100 or some other low price. Since nobody is going to risk loosing thousands of dollars if their auction doesn’t bring enough money, you can be pretty sure he has some “people” bidding on it for him. Especially those auctions that are private listings where it says “User ID kept private.” Also, because my reserve is close to the Buy It Now price, don’t think that you will get a much better deal if you just keep bidding it up instead of using B.I.N., especially if you need it delivered.
