This 1967 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle is a project we bought for my son and I to do about 7 years ago. It was red, ran, but not that well, had a turbo 350 transmission, some rust, but it was priced right.
We drove it home and then made our plans to fix her up a little over time as a father son project. Well, it did not take long to figure out that the body was not as nice as we thought. We ended up having to go to a professional body shop and have the entire rear trunk pan replaced, both front fenders, both rear fenders, inner and outer, the lower portion of both doors ended up getting redone, the front cowl had to be repaired, the rear window area had to be redone, the roof was repaired and the trunk lid ended up getting replaced. The original hood was OK, but we went to a Steel cowl induction hood because my son liked the look, (and I do too!) We decided since it was not an original color of red, that we would go back to a color closer to the original color, and we used a Nantuket Blue from GM, the car was totally stripped and as we put it back together and as our budget allowe, we replaced trim and other parts as needed. We put on new bumpers front and rear, had the transmission upgraded to a rebuilt 700R4 with shift kit, shifts great. cleaned up the motor took it apart and re-did ALL of the gaskets, added a new intake and carb, along with new valve covers, MSD Box and HEI distributor, plugs and wires and headers and exhaust. Added front disc brakes, master cylinder and booster, and we re-did the rear drums as well, all in the last year, lowering springs front and rear, tires, floor shifter from LOKAR, cleaned up the wiring and now the lights work and the signals, etc.
The car drives fine, the paint is now about 3 years old, my son was keeping it inside, but after his 2nd child was born, it went outside for about 2 years and there has been some bubbling coming back up near the glass area, we have been keeping it under a carport now and under a dust cover to limit any further damage from the sun or pets. The interior is usable, but it could stand to be replaced. No funny smells inside, the car is very driveable, it is still in need of some more love and attention to get it up to a show car standard, but for a street cruiser, going to the local cruise-in, it is great for that. It shows well, it is fun to drive, it just needs to be taken to the next level.
My son and his family want a larger home, so the car is going to have to go to help with the down payment, so no trades, we need to sell the car. It's not a show car as stated, but it is not priced as one either. We are not rushed to sell, it is listed locally, so we reserve the right to end the auction early. Look at my rating, I try my best to tell the whole story on the vehicles I sell, I'm not a dealer, I only sell vehicles I have had a hand in building, worked on or played with. If you need pictures, just email me and ask, i'll do my best to get them done. This is a great car, priced at what we feel is a fair market value, it is a reserved auction, we do have a buy it now price and it is close to our reserve. We can deliver the car within 100 miles of our location if needed. We will be willing to hold the car for up to 10 days after you pay in full to help with your arranging shipping or pickup, we will work with you and your shipper, but we will not deal with an exporter, too much hassel. Good Luck with your bidding and whomever wins this car will be happy with it!On Jul-17-16 at 13:15:07 PDT, seller added the following information:
