The Chevrolet Suburban has been in continuous production since 1934. Chevrolet was not the first or only manufacturer to use the word suburban for a vehicle which meant a windowed, station wagon type body on a commercial frame. Dodge, Plymouth, Studebaker, Nash and GMC used the same word to describe their similar vehicles. It wasn't until 1988 that General Motors was awarded an exclusive trademark on the name "Suburban." The name was used on their Chevrolet and GMC vehicles.
This Suburban is a fourth generation, produced from 1947 to 1955. In 1952, this Suburban is a 1/2 ton with panel doors. The original owner drove this vehicle as his daily until the mid 90's, in 2000 he took it out of storage and started a complete restoration processunfortunatelyhe passed on in his 90's. I purchased from his Son, with the intent of making it a Woody Suburban- this is without a doubt a Show Stopper- you will never see another one period.
