2001 CORVETTE COUPE DARK BOWLING GREEN METALLICThere were 18. 13 Corvette coupes made in model year 2001. Only 443 Dk Bowling Green Metallic painted coupes were produced making this one of the rarest colors produced in 2001; There were 443 coupes and 476 verts for a total 2001 DBGM production of 919. This is a ULTRA CLEAN & ** 2001 Corvette Coupe in Dark Bowling Green Metallic. Looks black at night and dark green during the daytime! Pretty rare color. as this hue was only available during the 2000 & 2001 models years and this wasn't a very popular color. Additionally. most cars this color had the beige or Tan interior. This car was bought new in Savannah. GA. by a local doctor back in December 2000 and he owned it up until his passing 2013. The car was NEVER raced or abused! EVERYTHING on this car still works fine. He kept this car garaged 100% of the time he had it. so it never sat outside and roasted in the summer sun. He only occasionally drove it. VERY well taken care of. Now his son owns it and is selling. The car is 98% ALL ORIGINAL and has very low miles! The car still smells new. Would be a great car for NCRS or Bloomington Gold certification!! It still rolls on the original Goodyear 'runflats'. although these are 14 years old and would most likely need to be replaced! The seats are in excellent condition and the seats in these cars were prone to premature wear on the side bolsters. It has both tops. the tinted clear and the fiberglass body colored. The GLASS top is a factory GM piece. but was purchased thru the local dealer after he bought the car. The fiberglass top was scratched early on while being stored and was repainted back in 2002. Great repaint and you'd never know it to see it! The driver side outter door handle pull has some paint chipping (see photo). The driver side door panel has a clip missing (behind inner door pull. see photos). All of the original paperwork is there including the factory introduction VHS tape which is still sealed. The cargo net is there and has never been out of it's pouch! This Corvette runs great and has had regular maintenance. The battery. plugs. wires. belt tensioner. serpentine belt and air filter have all been replaced. The serpentine belt was replaced from it being OLD rather than mileage wear. The fuel injectors were cleaned (dealer) about a year ago. There is a non-original '345 HP' plate on the throttle body that can be removed very easily (actually 2001's had 350 HP and the Z06 385). The REAR bumper cap 'CORVETTE' letters / indentions have carbon fiber inserts. For some reason. this car came from the factory with a BLACK 'CORVETTE' front license plate cover. This was obviously a assembly line mistake. but it's original equipment. guess somebody was color blind! The wheels have some age related pitting & staining. worse on the fronts. with the rears being in better condition. The carpets are in great shape with no real wear to speak of. The air conditioner works just fine with no issues. The clearcoat is in great shape with the exception of an area near the bottom of the front driver quarter panel where some is flaking off. Has not affected the color and can be easily repaired. At some point. a bird relieved itself on the hood and it left a spot. This can more than likely be wet sanded and buffed out. It isn't too bad and didn't eat deep into the clear coat. There is a small chip in the fiberglass pass side hatch that's right in the rear edge that can't be seen unless you're right up on it (see photos). There also a 1" scratch in the rear of the driver side hatch and a small scuff on the rear bumper cap (top) near the crossed flag emblem (see photo). this can be buffed out easily. That's about all that's wrong with the car. Both key fobs still work but will probably need to have new batteries. This car runs and looks great and never had any serious issues. It's just a VERY low mileage beauty and cars like this with such low miles are difficult to find. as most of these cars usually have 100. 00+ miles or more by now and show it!!
