1974 Corvette Stingray Sport Coupe for sale:
$12,000 OBO
Since we have owned this Corvette, it has been stored in an enclosed, heated auto storage facility in Michigan and now in Colorado. We are looking for the best offer for this well cared for classic. The VIN number is attached so that readers can research this specific car.
This Corvette was painted prior to when we purchased the car and work was done on the interior. The body is in excellent shape, though there are a two places where the paint has been chipped off: on the driver's side hood near the windshield and on the front bumper. The Cooper Cobra tires are new (11/15) with approximately 2,500 miles on them. The BF Goodrich tires in several of the photos have been replaced with the Cooper Cobras you see in the last photos, though the spare is still a BF Goodrich.
The 350 V8 L48 engine runs very well and is the original with block cast in Saginaw, Michigan. The alternator and battery are new (11/15), as well as the seat belts (11/15), the coolant temperature sending unit (7/16), and the oil pressure sensor (7/16) This car comes with new KYG rear shocks, although they have not yet been installed.
The 600 CFM Holley carburetor and Weiand Team G intake manifold were added by the previous owner. The carburetor has been reconditioned (11/15). The body, undercarriage, exhaust, brakes, transmission, and windows are all in good shape. The passenger side tie rod was replaced with the new tires (11/15). The interior needs some work to bring it up to very good and the steering rack leaks a bit of fluid. There are no visors. The black outer skin of one of the T-tops has been damaged and so we are ordering a new Thompson Astro Top smoked glass top for the car. The heating and air control cables are not working well and should be replaced; and the distributor is a later model that does not receive the tachometer cable, so this is on the list for replacement as well, but not sure if we will be able to get around to this prior to the end of this auction. The clock and radio do not presently work.
We have kept this car in storage, driving less than 3,000 miles in the last four and a half years. In November, 2015 we drove the car from Michigan to Boulder and in August we drove it to Portland Oregon. It did very well, getting lots of attention along the way. It gets approximately 18 miles to the gallon on the highway with high octane gasoline. It has passed the Colorado emission test and so is easily registered with plates.
Although this Corvette is dear to our hearts, we are selling this Corvette because of down-sizing efforts and will sell for the highest reasonable offer made. Please contact us with any questions you may have or to schedule to see the car.
Please note: Several of the photos attached were taken at the facility where we stored the car in Michigan. That business has no affiliation with this sale or the car.
