9C1 Interceptor
They do not get anymore badass than this! Former municipal car with exceptionally low mileage, 53k, and a very clean representation of a police classic. This unit started life with the 260hp LT1 and 4L60E drivetrain and after many iterations and numerous upgrades has arrived at its present firebreathing, import eating, take-no-prisoners attitude that is on display today. The caliber of this motor is an Ellwein Race Engines King 383 and absolutely nothing but the best was put into this bullet. Karl Ellwein is one of the best LT1 engine builders bar none and this was Lucky #13. Callies Dragon Slayer crank, Oliver rods, Mahle pistons, Advanced Induction Cam and Cylinder head package (TFS Twisted Wedge 215cc and Comp Cams solid roller Nascar package). Special modified LT4 Wilson Ramjet manifold specially made for the LT1 configuration, Stef's aluminum oil pan, Mezeire electric water pump, Derale cooling fan package upgrade, 1-5/8 full length headers, 3' exhaust with electric cutouts and the list goes on and on. This unit dynoed a very conservative 520hp on a strapped dyno (I'd be willing to go out on a limb and say that this combination safely makes 450hp to the wheels). That is without nitrous. The car has gone 12.70's with a previous combination on drag radials but I have not had this particular combo back for a pass. The transmission is has been treated to the Probuilt Automatic rebuild street/strip kit with Kolene clutches, Corvette servo, Beast sun shell, and much, much more. This will hold the power. The trans controller is TCI unit whose software and tune will also be included on the laptop. The Edge converter is 3400 rpm stall which help get this large sedan out of the hole.
The nitrous is not fully plumbed as I did not want the temptation of using it on this engine until I had it tuned and sorted out. We have a few hours into the tune but can use a few more hours on the laptop to get the transients fully dialed in. The aftermarket EFI controller is an ACCEL DFI Gen 7 and laptop, software and tune will come with the car. Fuel system is all Aeromotive with the A1000 pump, filters, fuel regulator and fuel rails. All Aeroquip fitting and fuel lines make the connections. RCI 16 gallon aluminum fuel tank with rear sump.
Car has been significantly lightened over stock. Stock Caprices typically tipped the scales at 4400#'s plus. This car has the ACE carbon fiber hood (very rare and hard to find but one of the best), aluminum bumper supports, fiberglass bumpers and other weight reducing strategies. I have a truck scale slip that has the car at right around 4000#'s. Still heavy but not excessively so.Very subtle exterior modifications include a welded in trunk release, all belt trim removed, Impala SS wheel well molding and lower door plates color matched. This car has a very smooth look.
BFG 275-60-15 Drag radials wrap the Weld Pro-star rear wheels and the suspension has been lowered with Eibach springs and Metco lower control arms. Driveshaft safety loop keeps the Dynatech Metal Matrix driveshaft retained. I have the Speedtech upper and lower A-arms but these have not been installed as yet. So much more that I have not mentioned but this is a very well thought out car that someone really needs to enjoy.
I have over 40k invested in the car. The engine and manifold alone were in excess of 16k. This car has an unbelievable sound that attracts attention wherever it goes and for the purveyor of large sedans, this is one fast land barge! Always garners a lot of attention on cruise night andfortunatelythe cops think it's pretty cool. I'm a motivated seller and would like to see my baby go to a good home. Serious inquiries only. This is not a car for the timid and this is not a daily driver. Please consider this before making contact with me. I do not want to waste anyone's time, especially my own.
If interested, please text, email or call Dave at 814 323-2858. This vehicle is located about 12 miles east of Erie, PA and can be seen by appointment.
I can email a link to give you a feel for the sound of the fine machine. Ebay's new linking policy does not allow me to directly link to a webpage, etc but if you are interested in seeing the engine build go to Ellwein Engines dot com and look up King ERE #13. Very thorough capturing of the build process.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
