Here we have a 1/2 ton 1987 Chevy suburban 4 x 4. Only 32,300 original miles!350 motor, automatic with over-dive transmission. Was originally blue and purchased by New Cumberland River rescue in PA in 1987. They had it painted red (Nice job) and outfitted it with emergency lights and sirens. The vehicle was used to tow their 18' Jon boats around for water rescues. Was housed in a heated and air conditioned firehouse for the first 26 years of it's life. You know how fanatical firemen are about their trucks! I purchased it 3 years ago at a C.O.G.S. auction. I had to have a special inspection done through the state to prove all emergency equipment was removed so that I could license it as a standard suburban. So it does have an R Title. It was titled as an Ambulance by River rescue for tax and registration cost breaks up until I bought it. I have kept it garaged since I have had it. I use it for hunting related trips and it works great. Not a shake or shimmy at 70-75 MPH. Everything works. Just changed oil and filter 50 miles ago. It has the add on A/C that they offered back then. Works great and compressor was just replaced before I bought it. Not a hint of rust anywhere. Exhaust manifolds look like new. Seats are real nice. the only blemishes on the whole vehicle are a couple sun cracks on the dash pad (These years of chevy's were famous for that) and someone cracked the passenger side windshield pillar trim inside. I think maybe when they installed or removed the emergency lights on the roof. If you like these K bodies this is as nice as they come. Needs nothing. I do have the vehicle for sale locally so I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time. You will need to arrange for shipping yourself if not picking up in person. Contact me if you have any questions.
